Seriously, it seems like people don't even know what MFGG stands for anymore. There's at least one emo topic every day. There's blogs like Myspace, Livejournal, etc, for that kind of stuff. Wouldn't you "emo" people rather have REAL LIFE friends to support you? MFGG's not exactly a playground. Besides, making those topics won't make you feel any better, and the replies in those topics are not so supportive...

Also, the majority of those topics are nothing more than pleas for attention.

I don't think there should be a rule against them, but I think that, for the most part, they should be discouraged.

Well, this is uh, slightly, a rant topic on it's own. Not emo, but still.


I believe people should be able to make their rant topics here. Mainly, because most people here are sane enough to give actual replies. Also, we know the people here well enough. They should be allowed. We aren't communist.


I've never made a rant topic, really, and I probably never will. It's not like me. Doesn't mean I don't think they should be allowed.

No one is really being emo. (Maybe besides a few?) Unless they go "I HATE MY LIFE AND I WANT TO DIE" and that kind of crap.

To be honest, I think everyone is taking the topics too serious. Not to offend anyone

Allowed, yes. It'd be taking away too many rights if we disallowed them. However, how they are executed should be our focus. If they're just pointless topics with a bunch of swear words, then lock them. If they're well constructed, meaningful topics, then I say they should stay open. I'm sure the majority of us have friends irl, but maybe taking to them is not so easy.
And if you don't want to be burdened with some stranger's problems, then don't go into the topic. I think the thing tat really pulls the emo topics down are the "not going to end well" posts.

I highly doubt that anyone here is a liscensed psychologist/whatever, and just because person X went through the same deal as person Y does not mean that X's solution will work for Y.

So basically it's your choice, but you'll have to deal with anything that goes wrong due to bad/wrong/not appropriate/etc advice that a member gave

I think he means the topics which talk about something that's happened to you and you decide to post all of it and how pissed off you are.

It's called venting.

I think that emo rants along the lines of "OMG MY LIFE SUXX0RZ!" should be kept in PPP. But if it is an intelligent topic, about a serious problem someone is havingwith their life, then it should be here. If it was in PPP, then hat person wouldn't get the help that they might get here.

You should uhmm make a little Rant section...so people can post all "Emo" type stuff in that section. Does good, because its away from everything else and people have the choice to go in and see for themselves, other than face the topic in the GD or PPP.

Well if it's a serious problem where HELP is required it should go in the HELP forum.

I still say vents/rants should go in the PPP.

If you're going to vent about how your family member died or something tragic like that happened, cool. We can be like "Condolances brotha"

But if you're going to make a topic like the one Dburnell01 made. Or ones about how your love life sucks. Or ones about how your parents are acting like parents but you think that's unfair how dare they treat you like a minor without the same rights as adults, or etc... Take it to livejournal. Christ.
