It'd depend. Games with different atmospheres deserve different perspectives. Games that want you to know "You're this character, don't forget it." should be third person. First person is when the developers want you to think "This is you. You are the character."

I believe Crack Down for the 360 has a comic book/movie preview voice narrator. Doesn't say everything you do, but when you get shot alot he says something like "Your running low on health Agent".


But if it was that voice and he said it for everything you do, I'd buy that game.

Yeah this, Ratchet and Clank wouldn't be the same in 1st person, and Half Life wouldn't be the same in 3rd person.
