| I wanna start of by saying congrats to Tuna Unleashed for his awesome entry in the last comp. Now, on to biz. For this comp, you have to make a mock up bowser castle screen shot type deal. Nah, not really. This comps theme is *drumroll*  Ptooie. Also, 1 animation plz, and remember the theme is Ptooie in general. This ends in 1 week, so lets see some good entries, k? |

Looks like fun. Probably the best sprites I have ever made. Which tells you how bad I must be at making sprites. |

agreed while its graphics weren't as "good" as the newer games, ML:SS still had a unique charm that made it amazing |

I tried the AAing two different ways but I thought it looked weird either way (in the box). So I redid it entirely. Any better? |

Well, I drew it on a drawing tool, wacom, with PAP. Then I exported it into GM, where I colored and animated it. Does anything drawn with wacom not count? Or anything done with PAP or Inkscape? |

 IT IS COMPLETO! I also fixed Man Ptooies hand. also the way the balloon alternate works. theres a ball in the balloon that keeps it round. when the ball comes out the balloon deflates. in order for the ball to come back in the balloon streches its bottom from the inside to get the ball |

Doesn't resemble anything megaman-ish to me. To be quite honest, had you not created it for this competition, I wouldn't even be able to tell it's a ptooie (or a pirahna plant, for that matter). The shape of it's head could use some work, and the spitting direction is off. It should be pointing upwards. Your shading is minimal, and it's placed in such a way, the light source is inconsistent. I'd work on it a bit more. |

It was kinda based off the TV show, they ran and spat in that one. The head, I just liked how it looked. I know they don't have eyes, but in the TV shows, piranha plants had eyes, so it's a cross-breed, I guess. But thanks for the help, I'm still learning! |

There was like 6 TV Shows, according to Wikipedia. Which one are you basing off of? And can I get an image of your reference, if possible? Here's what Mario Wiki tells me about Ptooie: http://www.mariowiki.com/Ptooie As you can see, even in one of the television shows, it still bears a resemblence. |

You're right, it was the TV show, bottom left on Mariowiki, but I liked how it looked and wanted to make him kind of humanoid. I fixed up the light source I think though! |

| In that case: 1) Make the head rounder. It's a bit too oval. 2) The spitting direction is still off. Unless they really spit out spike balls like they're vomiting on the floor, I suggest fixing where the mouth goes. 3) Light source is fixed, but the shading needs more contrast. Keep working hard. |

- Then I can't necessarily help you. You can keep it, but it'd just look strange. To me, anyways. - Contrast means the difference between different shades. A high contrast would be a very dark shade next to a very light shade (Black and White being the highest contrast). A low contrast would be one shade, with either a very slightly darker or lighter shade. You never want a contrast that's too high or low. You want it so the shades should be distinguishable enough to not have to magnify in paint, but also blend together so that the shades aren't too vastly different. In your case, you have a low contrast going, so it's a bit had to see the different shades. Make one shade of each color slightly darker. So yeah, you could also add an extra color. At most though, just one extra for each color. |

You might wanna tell Flamedragon that the theme is Ptooies. As in, the things that spit a spiked ball striaght up, then balance it by blowing it up again. That looks like a normal Piranha plant. |

...Inconsistent? What I meant was that the dots growing and shrinking looked like the whole face of the Ptooie was stretching with every movement of the lips. If you notice, the dots get smaller as the mouth opens wider, and they grow their biggest when the Ptooie is spitting. |

I'm not altogether happy with how it came out, but I just did this for kicks so I'm entering it anyway. And wow, that Paper Mario Ptooie looks great! I half thought it was a rip from the actual game.
