| Metroid has really amazing music. Why have we not done a music competition on it yet? Remix music from any old Metroid series. Do not remix Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, Metroid Prime 3 or Metroid Fusion music. Metroid Zero Mission is allowed, as it's a recreation of the original Metroid (albeit there being more added on, but whatever). So, essentially any song/songs from Metroid, Metroid II and Super Metroid. no rom hacks do not count what the hell are you thinking Current date is April 13th. Entries are due May 4th. Go. |

| Can we have a rule against medleys? As awesome as they are, I think it should be quality over one song over quantity of lots. |

is this because mine won If it is, I tell you, I never do medleys for the sake of having as many songs as I can - I do songs for a reason, and I put good time to ensure there's good quality. also, Strong, whatever you want to do, just make sure it fits the criteria |

Yeah I know, and medleys sound good but in my experience people vote on stuff like medleys because there's more to like, not necessarily because the song is good. |

| Maybe instead of a ban against medleys you could have a limit to the length of the piece? It's just that some songs really lend themselves to medleys and work well with other songs, you can end up with a good sounding piece of music. In my experience people vote for the track that they like the best overall, even in a non-medley piece you get some parts that are good and some not so good, people vote on the good. So yeah, I'd go for a length limit, more than a style limit. |

So... I have it now, but I can't quite figure out how it works. I need to get instruments or something? could you please give me some help with this, plus maybe a link of where to download the instruments? |

| Yeah you need to download instruments or steal them from other songs. I'd suggest downloading lots of songs with .s3m .it .xm filenames and opening them up in Modplug Tracker, and then you can save the instruments and also learn how the program works by looking at other songs. Anyway... as for my song, already a good way through, it's quite a haunting song. Very happy so far. |

| Here's my entry, it's whatever area from Maridia from Super Metroid, i'm sure if you've played the game you'll recognise it. I was gonna wait longer to upload it incase I felt like adding anything else or changing something but i'm not bothered honestly. http://www.sendspace.com/file/he4ymr Enjoy! I wanted to do something that was both a little haunting and a little sad sounding at the same time and I think at times I pulled it off. It's supposed to be kind of creepy in ways but also lonely. |

god damn this is incredible i only listened to twenty seconds before deciding i like this better than your Giygas remix Awesome job! For some reason I'm a fan of the intentional bass distortion you have consistently in the background. Also fantastic use of the piano in the song! |
