I decided to work on one of my other ideas for the minigame comp and withdraw my old one.
My new idea I've been working on for a couple of days is Goomba Vs Mario. It's based off of Mario Vs Donkey Kong, I've been wanting to make a MvsDK fangame and I decided to star goomba instead for the comp.
The gameplay is basically like MvsDK's gameplay, you get the key and take it to the door. There's not going to be a second part to each level after you take the key to the door. it's just hgetting the key to the door.
I plan to make 3-5 levels. And a boss if I have time. I need time to fix bugs and glitches in it. I may perhaps turn it into a full game after the comp though.
Right now I only have this one level, I made it mainly for testing purposes but I may perhaps leave it as it is in the complete version, well with of course new things I want to add.
I have put in:
- The Key (I had to make a crappy one because I don't have the key sprite on hand)
- The Door
- Conveyor belts
- Garbage Cans
- Platforms
- Ladders
- Spikes
- A HUD
To be added:
- Title Screen
- Enemies
- Game over screen
- Disentegrating bridges/platforms
- Switches to change Conveyor Direction
- 1ups
- Other MvsDK things
- Mini marios (maybe)
- More levels
- Score
- Level/Player High scores (maybe)
Glitches I am aware of:
- If you jump under the conveyor belts you start moving like you are on top of it and you are stuck
- The garbage cans stick to anything on impact
- For some unknown reason I got stuck on the ladder while going up and down it. I was just floating there, could have had something to do with collison detection when getting off the ladder. Try to stay in the center of the ladder when going up.
- You can get stuck on the ladder if you try to get off around the top when your head is above the platform or almost above it but the rest of your body isn't, however, you're supposed to go a little farther to get down anyway so don't try that. I'll try to fix it though.
I may be forgetting some but those are all the ones I am aware of.
Oh and something I have in here that's not MvsDK-like is the Key following behind you (well that's kinda like a mini mario) and being able to pick up stuff while you have the key, seeing as it's behind you.
Controls:
Left and Right Arrow Keys: Move
Shift - Jump
Control (while on top of garbage can) - Pick up
Spacebar - Throw garbage can. Would be control again but I had issues with the programming
Up arrow - Climb up ladder
Down Arrow - Climb down ladded

Can floating above you. It would be upside down but I had problems making that work.

This is a very short level, I don't know if I could call this game a demo really, more like a test.
