Today bore a batch of HILARIOUS topics.

I had my Gamecube for almost 5 years, and it's in perfect condition.

The system itself isn't a toy, so just don't play around with it.

For better results, pee on it.

If your gamecube will be on a shelf or platform of any kind; try to "lock" it onto the shelf with a strap. This is espesially useful if you plan to keep it up high.

You're kidding right? You have a launch cube that works perfectly?

My gamecube is the infernal "disc read error" edition. It seems to like 3rd party better than 1st party as well. The disc just won't spin sometimes.

I'm serious. It's in perfect condition. Because the only times I touch the system is when I press "Open" and the power switch.

Never had one, but common sense about the carpet thing is to never put the GC on a carpet if it's without a case. Static electricity will damage the components. In a case, it should be safe (like it comes, why would you take it off?)

I've had my Cube for... going on three years now and it's been through a lot- I've dragged it to and from college in a box that it doesn't quite fit in so it got slammed around a lot, plus I almost fried it in thunderstorm once (shut up) and it still works perfectly.

My brother has a launch day Cube that works fine too.

Seriously, it's hard to break these things.

... how often does a GC not have a case

BS that's where mine is now

Dust gathers in the console's fan, and controller ports if you put it on something like carpet, or a rug.

The first real advice:
If you change discs do it the following:

1) Open the box of the game in the Cube.
2) Open the box of the game you want to play.
3) Take the disc out of the box.
4) Open the Cube.
5) Take the disc out of the Cube.
6) Put the new disc into the Cube.
7) Close Cube.
8) Put old disc in its box.
9) Close box with disc.
10) Close empty box.

That's the best way not to get any dirt on your discs or disc drive.
