OFFICIAL Metal Slug Discussion, Because it KICKS ASS

Metal Slug in my opinion, are the best side scrolling shooting games ever. They blow Alien Hominid and Contra out of the water because they're longer, harder, more in depth, funner, and definantly alot more addicting. I always went by Nathons (I thought of it as the arcade of where I lived) and I always played 2 games; The Simpsons beat 'em up game and Metal Slug 3. Though not too recently Nathons was shut down in replace of SUSHI PARK. ;_; I NEVER PLAYED METAL SLUG AGAIN. Though, the Wii is bringing in with the greatest luck ever; All 5 (Or six if you count MSX) Metal Slugs on 1 DISK WITH WII CONTROLER CAPIBILITIES! This is gonna be the best game ever, I'm not sure what I'll be playing more, Metal Slug Anthology or The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess.

Alien Hominid and Contra are both harder, and more in depth. Contra is way harder.

I hate when people start doing this with things that have been around for a long time. Metal Slug is a great series, but it isn't harder then Contra. **** no, Contra is a game that you have to play hundreds of times to finally be able to beat. I can agree that it is more fun though, since Contra kind of loses its edge after the first minute or two, but Alien Hominid is pretty fun, although not very hard. Also, it's not every Metal Slug on the collection for the Wii, since they aren't including 6 on it. I think they said there's online play, so that's good.

I still think Contra: Hardcorps is better than all of them.

Indeed. took me a year to finally develop the skill to blast the brain in super probotector or wtf when i was a kid.

Probotector! yay! Robots look way cooler

I loove Alien Hominid.

Metal Slug 3 was awesome too. Loveliest graphics on PS2.

But Alien Hominid is bigger. MS3 had the brilliant multiple paths thing though. Both are bloody hard.

I want the Behemoth's next game. And I'll buy the MS collection too.

You obviously haven't played every contra game then.

Becides, difficulty doesn't make a good game.

How many contra games have been made so far?

I've only played Metal Slug 1 and 2, and that's because I downloaded the Arcade ROMs. The spriting style used is probably the most effective style I've ever seen IMO.
