Minigame Competition #14, Graphically Gameboy

and oh my god it’s YOURS Group: Members Posts: 4749 Member No.: 48 Joined: 13-October 03 Status: (0d)	Thanks for everyone who voted last competition, good job everyone else, I personally didn't expect to actually win. This competition's theme(right now, if it isn't said to be too hard to abide by, if it is we have backup ideas) is simply to create a minigame in the style of a Gameboy game. That means only use these colors. I had a bunch of complicated rules about what would work visually on GB, but just make the game feel like a GB game, and don't use extra colors. Audio can be whatever, being that we don't have a wide selection of perfect GB noises and music. Again, if this competition is too complex, or likewise covers too simple an idea, me and Kaep can discuss other ideas. I just wanted to get this out as I thought he was gonna post it while I was gone and he picked out an idea between any of his and mine. Deadline is July 9th, that seems good right? edit: Oh and it has to be a Mario related game, I'm not sure what the main rules are about if someone made something related to Wario with no connections to Mario(IE Wario Ware, VB Wario Land/Wario Land 2 and up), or simular circumstances though. edit edit: Here's that greenish color set, Hanyou found em. Hmm... I just may enter this. May I use an engine I've already made for a seperate, botched project? I wouldn't want to have to start from scratch (though I could if I had to) and besides, the engine I want to use is in truth only half finished anyway so it's not like I would have the game up and running in five minutes.

Not gonna add any rules against adding a (normally 16 color) Super Gameboy border per-frame either, but not gonna force it either, the border doesn't count as part of the game if you keep it at that, but I don't think we'll go as far as SGB game enhancements. If you feel like going the extra mile, here's a template, white is the boarder and black is the game screen.
