About a year ago, somebody who was a poster on Starmen.net was able to obtain four magnetic discs with the characters "M3" written on them. The discs were colored blue, which is the standard disc color for prototype Nintendo 64 Dynamic Drive discs:

Unfortanately, even though the fellow who obtained the discs had an N64DD, accessing the data from the discs was near impossible. Such data was in incremental values, and would not run unless the partner floppy containing an IPL4 rom program was present. No such floppy has even been auctioned off anywhere, ever since the release of the system.
However,
here's the missing puzzle piece. Somebody from Italy has auctioned off a KMC N64 parter development kit, which is essentially capable of accessing the data from this discs - whether the data be from Earthbound 64, or not.
Unfortanately, the auction has ended, and it was sold for a relatively cheap $400. However, the battle has just begun. I am assuming that whoever in their right mind bid on this development kit did so for a reason, and he's not just some collector, or rich little John. But perhaps he doesn't know about these discs. His Ebay alias is
mattmoss1982, and I am going to contact him, as evidently, nobody else has.
This is interesting beyind belief.
