Up to 7,000 PSOne games emulated on the PSP by the end of 2007. That's what Sony is promising.

There's no release date or further details (like, HELLO! Pricing?), but Sony did confirm for the UK PSP Magazine that Tomb Raider, Symphony of the Night, Final Fantasy VII and VIII and Silent Hill.

That's a pretty exciting attempt to shore up the PSP's games line-up, although we're curious if these emulated versions will nix attempts to release Tomb Raider and Silent Hill remakes. But 7,000 games? Yes, they used the dreaded qualifier 'up to' but that's a bold claim that can only be good for those of us who haven't yet flushed our PSPs down the toilet. Crecente, I'm looking at you.

Castlevania!

This'll be via some downoad service. (I think). And that should mean new downloadable games too. I'm assuming the games will be stored on memory cards. Will that make the loading times better? Worse? This could be awesome.

If the PS1 games don't get any kind of loading time improvement, why bother? We already have PS2 which can play PS1 games.

But it can't download them. With downloads there's an unlimited supply! And some games I want are rare and expensive. Actually, only one game: Symphony of the Night.

God no. I'm not downloading games of such size onto a PSP. And I never could get the memory stick to work with my computer properly.

No, I don't suppose it's much at all when you're not even taking price of said stick into account. Nor the fact that this isn't likely to be a free service anyway.

I finally get to play SotN. But arent the games too big in size? They might do this like VALVe's Steam.

$120?

For a 1 gig memory stick it's a Pretty good deal. But Most people get the pack for the PSP with the 1 gig stick.

Not only that but you could fit a game or 2 on the Original stick

Edited my post to further justify my money fears.

And two games to fit on a $120 stick (plus possible cost for the games themselves) doesn't exactly seem worth it.

By the way for something that seems like a last-ditch effort to save their system, they're sure doing it a bit late.

I'll stick with the pre-owned market. Much better deal than having to buy a PSP to play old games.

i was talking about the Pre include stick, you could Fit FF8, FF7, FF9 and Metal Gear Solid on the one gig stick if they do it right.

Movies
You can play through the whole game on any disk, you just get different movie sequences. Same with all of them and MGS

For a 1 gig memory stick it's a Pretty good deal.

If you pay that much you're getting ripped off. The prices keep dropping, it's like $80-$90 for a 2gig now.
