Top 10 favorite, Video game endings

[Quickie-la]

Illusion of Gaia is one of my favorite games of all time and it has an awesome ending.
Can't think of any others at the moment.

Wind Waker.

Spoilers:

Because Ganon actually has a reason to get the Triforce other than "WORLD DOMINATION PLZ," and the King of Hyrule sacrifices himself to keep Ganon from being resurrected after you kill him, then Link leaves his home and family behind to sail off to who-knows-where with the pirates. The final battle was damn fun as well. Actual swordplay!

No particular order:

-Shadow of the Colossus: I had an idea of how this was gonna turn out, but the way things went down surprised me.
-EarthBound: Awesome in every conceivable way.
-Metal Gear Solid 3. Just...that was quite a gutpunch of a plot twist at the end. Before the credits, not after.
-Super Mario World: I'm a sucker for enemy casting calls. XD
-Paper Mario 1: PARADE PARADE PARADE.
-Super Metroid: =( Spoilers:

Poor baby Metroid.

-Megaman X: One of my favorites as a kid. The final boss setup was absolutely incredible to me, the ending music was great, and Sigma popping up after it all to taunt you really bugged me out at the time.

Earthbound - I have to say it too. Just the fact that the ending lasts as long as it takes you to get to Ness' house is incredible. You get to talk to everyone and practically learn that Ness is a worldwide celebrity. Plus, it shows that some random recurring joke throughout the game actually has an effect on the ending (the picture guy taking pictures, though he shouldn't have appeared in the shots :\)

Tales of Symphonia - Just the fact that the world was finally changing for the better was an awesome feeling in itself.

...when I later did some research on it on Wikipedia, I figured that Lloyd named the tree Yggdrasill, after Mithos, assuming that you make the connection between Symphonia and Phantasia.

Wind Waker - Same thing, except after you kill Ganondorf, Link and Tetra set out to change the world themselves. I also liked the whole air of WE KILD GNANON BUT ARE ADVANTER IZ JUZT BEGNING!!11 when Tetra's pirates set sail. It also gave the feeling that Link had finally matured as a man by game's end.

Super Metroid is also one of my favorite endings, though I count the part from where you get the Hyper Bean onward as the "ending".

Mother Brain's almost got you whipped, when the baby Metroid runs in and attacks her, she counterattacks, Samus gets charged up and beats the **** out of MB before evacuating the planet, then the whole planet explodes.

1. Super Metroid... excellent.
2. Yoshi's Island... not a particularly great ending, but it is one of my favorite games ever, so there.
3. Half-Life... there's something chilling about the way the game ends that probably has to do with the G-Man's cold attitude toward everything you've just survived. Same for Half-Life 2.
4. Majora's Mask... one of the few games that has a perfect ending, I think.

99% of the time it's the music that makes the ending memorable so
