Permabans rarely come, and if they do, only to people that absolutely deserve them.

QUOTE (Arima @ Jul 6 2006, 04:07 AM)
Even though a Forum is just a Forum, there are some people who consider Internet Friends just like friends they have at school. To ruin your membership would be to lose those friends... perhaps forever.

If they are good friends, I'm pretty sure they can keep in touch through AIM or MSN or other IM client of own choice.

And like my example, would you consider permabanning me if I say, broke all of your forums rules without care, and kept on doing it after you tempbanned me?

Of course. Someone like that has no point except to bother, and don't belong.

QUOTE (Arima @ Jul 4 2006, 02:35 AM)
I've come to a personal decision... that Perma-Bans (Permanent Bans) are too Harsh.

I think a One-Year Ban is a much better, more humane alternative than a Perma-Ban.

Being an Emotionally Sensitive Person that I am, the potential of getting Banned from a forum can be emotionally devastating.
And emotional devastation can REALLY change someone. For better or for worse.

Please Discuss your thoughts on this. I consider this a VERY Important Issue.

Look, I don't mean to come off as offensive...well, actually, I do, cuz I'm an asshole like that...but:

A// Who are you exactly and what right do you have to "decide" that permabans are too harsh?

B// If you're emotionally unstable, a forum is not the right place for you to be. Nobody wants to hear or see it, and if you're going to be that shaken up by being banished from a message board which rarely stays on the topic its originally supposed to cover--that being video games in the broad sense, specifically Mario games made by fans--then you should consider devoting your time to more healthy activities other than being here. A job, for instance. Or if you're not old enough, try getting a group of friends together and going to movies or something.

C// If I see another "Oh man, this is what I think the Forums need to be like" topic, I will ****ing scream.

He did?

All I see in the "New Member ______" is Slam and still Slam.

Well, not exactly KS, but he joined the main site. Thankfully, he hasn't done anything else to the site.

Anyway, this issue has already been decided. I see no point in allowing this topic to continue.
