You don't want to read them? Then what you do is simple: You don't. You can smell an angst topic from a mile away. Most topics like that have an equally angsty title.

Good call.

American Football and punk music always pissed me off, I hate reading topics about those things.

Its always the same things, but different bands/teams. I mean, please.

If we're gonna ban topics you people don't like, we might aswell kill some I don't like.

While I really have no problem helping others with their problems, I have to admit, these things are popping up more than I'd personally like them to, but that's just me.

(This is just my opinion, don't take this as a sign of me saying I'm going to ban these topics)

Topics where the post is genuinely asking for advice or help with a problem don't bother me, it's the ones where there's really no room for discussion or where the original poster goes on a huge tangent about something trivial that get on my nerves. There is a guideline in the rules saying it might not be such a good idea, but most people do it anyway

You know on some forums they have a "Help with life" subforum, I don't know if we should go that far or not, but it might be something to keep in mind...it could be a subforum of the help forum or something

Or all Emo topics could just go in the help forum so that people don't complain that the help forum is inactive.

But I guess then it would end up becoming like the Arts board and request topics.

Let me ammend myself then.

I don't want to see them. Some people have it much worse than those who are making all these whiny emo topics and are more than content to keep quiet about it.

Its just a bunch of ****ing text on a screen for christ sake.

EDIT: It will not be me, because I already said I aint gonna post any anymore.

I don't see why they aren't locked immediately. I mean, there's no other point to making a rant topic other than to type whatever you need to to get it off your chest. Are replies really necessary?

I guess I should start using my livejournal again instead of blowing things up here on MFGG.

The topics should be allowed, of course but if I see 5 new ones in one day, its getting a tad bit out of hand BUT banning them outright is taking away from the whole idea of ' Freedom of Speech ' ( unless, of course, a fourm for such topics was made and they only to be posted there or moved there )

Now, I don't mean to offend the guy or anything like that, I'm only pointing it out but I reckon that it was WYHM's topic that opened the floodgates to the latest trend in topics, it was something I noticed. In fact, when I first saw that topic I though tto myself ' Oh god, here we go again..... ' ( A similar trend occurred back in 2002 and I admit it was me who started it )

The trend will pass, just give it some time and it will disapate ( sp? ) and no matter what fourm, your always going to get someone ranting! In fact, one of the fourms I always visited on DA was the help with life fourm, there'd be some seriously messed up crud in there. ( that and I see myself as a bit of a wannabe - pyschologist! laugh3.gif )

I'm not talking to anyone. I'm just talking about emo rant topics in general.

Yes, this is a rant ranting about emo rants. But it's not an emo rant.

Holy hell, that didn't make sense.

EDIT: I'm talking about the ones Naoshi's talking about. The "I HATE MY LIFE BECAUSE I BROKE UP WITH ONE GIRL" kind of thing.

Well...to take this as a example...

Wouldnt this Be a Rant. Wouldnt this be consider "emo" since "complaining" about something would be emo.

I HATE MY LIFE AND WANT TO DIE!

Actually, when I want do share something going on with my life, I talk to one of my friends on MSN/AIM or PM them; I'm not so intent on sharing whatever's happening at school/with friends/at home with a whole messageboard, some of the members I don't even know that well. =\
