So I'm on the way to CityPlace (a local cultural center) with my friend Nathan Marino so we can see the 8:25 showing of Pirates of the Carribean 2. We call our friends Sarah Midden and Carly Kraszewski, who are already at the theater, and tell them to stand in line so we can skip it. When we get there, they are next in line. We walk over to them and every showing is sold out. They already have their tickets, and they don't want to ditch us... so they trade theirs in for the 8:15 showing of The Devil Wears Prada. We bought ours as well. After that, we walked over to Barnes and Noble and ran into Taylor St. Clair and Paul Brill. They also had tickets to The Devil Wears Prada at 8:15, but in a different theater. At 8:00, we left Barnes and Noble and went back to the theater. Nathan's parents were there and had tickets to the 9:00 showing of Pirates. We look depressed because we weren't able to get in. In the theater, Paul decides to stack all of our tickets together so we can get in together. As we walk in, at around 8:10, I notice that the sign above the door said "Pirates of the Carribean"... I kept it to myself. There were only six or seven people in the theater, and I said, "This can't be right. The show starts in five minutes, there's no way that there're this few people here. I bet they're showing Pirates in here at 9:00." We sat down and waited for the movie to start. About two minutes later, two girls walked in and asked if we were here to see Pirates. We told them no and they walked away. At around 8:20, the movie still hadn't started. The man behind me went to go ask what was going on. When he returned, he told his wife that they had no record of an 8:15 showing of The Devil Wears Prada in theater 11. I said again, "You guys, I bet they're showing Pirates in here at 9:00!" Around 8:30, a theater employee came in and said, "Hey, if any of you guys are here to see The Devil Wears Prada, we moved that downstairs. This is going to be Pirates at 9:00." At this point, Sarah said, "Chris, you're a genius." As it turned out, we were the first ones there for the movie. It was completely packed with no seats left at all. If we showed up for a 9:00, we never would have gotten seats.

What are the odds of any of that happening? I don't know, but I'm sure glad it all did.

I feel bad for the people that had legit tickets to go see Pirates 2 that could have gotten seats, but now can't, because you were there. Jerks. unsure.gif

Anyway, you're lucky. Good for you.

Anyway, you're lucky. Good for you.

Tickets were sold out. There was only one guy that came in and actually walked away because there were no seats... but it was playing on four screens in the same theater, so I'm not worried about those people.

Lucky *******, I had almost the exact opposite happen to me at the Muvico Parisian (local theater) last night.

I bought tickets for yesterday's 9:00 PM showing of Pirates of the Carribean 2 the day before, since I wanted to make absolutely sure I had a seat.

I arrived a little bit in advance, but I wasn't too worried since I had bought my ticket so early and I didn't necessarily need the best seat in the house. Imagine my bewilderment when there were no seats left. Kind of makes you wonder how many people snuck in that night...

I would have seen it at another showing, but I had that showtime in mind as I would of been late to my night class if I had gone any later. They gave me some sort of movie certificate, I'll try to redeem it some other time I suppose. It just really blows how inconsiderate some people were and how they'll never know how much they screwed up my movie night.

The theater I went to was called the Muvico Parisian too... Hmm. You don't live in West Palm Beach, do you?

No, but the theater was in West Palm Beach. I live in Lantana.

That's hilarious that we live so close and were at the same theater last night. My friend's parents were in the real 9:00. Ours was in a smaller theater that should have been playing The Devil Wears Prada... I guess they converted it at the last minute.

That's really kind of eerie...

But as long as you don't go to "Lake Worth Christian School" I think my brother can sleep easy at night. wink.gif
