This is sort of off-topic, but since this topic in the past has pretty much served additionally as MFGG's only pro wrestling thread, I figured it made sense to post it here: is anybody else disappointed that due to WWE's policy of having all pay-per-views being joint-brand from now on, One Night Stand is no longer ECW-exclusive? Kinda ruins the whole point of the event.

Yes. But I hate ECW.

I was really interested in the ECW brand when it first debuted back in June because I naively believed McMahon wouldn't f*** it up the way he f***s up anything he didn't directly create (the WCW Invasion, the return of the nWo, et cetera). I figured maybe they'd keep it as "extreme" as they could get away with on Sci Fi, but they eventually made all matches "WWE rules" aside from the rare Extreme Rules Match--and even those just felt like the s***ty WWF hardcore division from several years ago.

I'm just now getting back into liking the ECW brand because of the Originals vs New Breed angle which is being executed surprisingly well with neither side being buried (I figured McMahon would book the Originals to pretty much get their asses kicked on a regular basis because of his well-evidenced contempt for fans of the ECW promotion, but this has actually been pretty evenly back and forth). We even had a decent Extreme Rules Match between the two teams Tuesday, something we haven't seen in ECW in a long time.

I like the old ECW, though.

I wasn't fortunate enough to have watched the original ECW when it was around, but from everything I've seen of it through video clips on WWE programming, YouTube videos of matches, and the WWE-produced DVDs of Mick Foley and Chris Benoit, I've gotta say I'd love it if WWE would return the ECW brand to that style of wrestling.

Assuming Zekewars, Masked Mecha, and Sasuke don't win or take second place in the Battle Royal tomorrow, we'll see the three of them finally square off against each other this Sunday at XD Addiction in one of the most anticipated grudge matches in recent memory!

Somebody should really convince Pie to join as a ring valet (manager), with the winner of the Triple Threat Match this Sunday winning her services.
