I decided to change my entry. I really like the Pirates thing, but I think I'd rather make that into a full platform game, so I'm going to do something else for this. I'm not sure what, though.

The idea of this certain competition is to focus on Mario and possibly Luigi. However, I don't want to make the competition too strict, so if you have an idea that works very well for someone else in Mario's world other than Mario and Luigi, feel free to do it.

Meh, I wanted to do something like that...
But I think I have a better idea:

Well, after slaving over Game Maker for along time, I managed to finish my game, Luigi's Sky Patrol, where you play as Luigi with his new job: Sky patrol. He must clear the Mushroom Kingdom's skies from invading enemies, with Mario's help.
Here's a screenshot:

How to play:
Move Luigi's plane with the mouse, left click to shoot a bullet, and spacebar to shoot Bullet Bills. Be careful, though, you have limited Bills, though enemies drop them randomly and when you hit multiple with one bullet.

ENEMIES:
Paragoomba: Just a regular Goomba that flies, hit it with a bullet or Bullet Bill to kill it.
Paratroopa: Flying Koopa Troopa that is immune to bullets. They bounce right off! Hit it with a Bullet Bill yo defeat it.
Boo: These guys are tricky. You can't hit them, because they hide from your bullets, but they can hurt you! Just avoid them.
Bonzai Bill: The ultimate enemy, bullets bounce right off it, without even leaving a scratch! Shoot it with a Nullet Bill to 'splode it, as well as your Bill.

TIPS:
Mario comes by every once in a while and drops a mushroom. Grab it for an extra life!
Hit multiple enemies with Bullet Bills for extra points, but be careful, they stop when they hit Bonzai Bills!

I'll offer up my spriting services, because I'm no good at mini-games, so if your game needs some ML or 16-bit SMB1-3 sprites I can whip them up, first taker gets the goods, all I ask is credit and let me play the game
