Mario's Pizza Frenzy!, Mini-Game Competition Entry

The object of the game is to throw pizzas and land them on the doorsteps. I got the idea from a game I've played but I forget the name of it. Anyway, you throw pizzas with the spacebar and you move with the arrow keys.

THIS IS JUST A DEMO. I need your C+C please so I can improve it!

Update 1
Added cars and made it so you can't go up as far. Thanks for the suggestions Golem!

Update 2
Changed the music, thanks to Shadowman! Also, longer song means longer gametime. About 20 seconds after the song ends, or if you get hit by a car, the high score table shows up.

Sounds like Paperboy.

It's a bit bare at the moment, but you did say it was a demo. That also makes it really easy--there's nothing keeping you from staying right outside the doors and just tapping space whenever Mario gets near a door, and the pizza lands immediately on the doorstep. If something kept Mario from the top part of where he can move, that would improve gameplay.

The only glitch was that if you were on the top sidewalk, pizzas would miss no matter what.

this is an awesome game, i started missing at the end lol cuz it was so fast. once you add more and some different levels to it it'll be cool, have him going around different neighborhoods instead of just horizontally. and you could have different cities or areas and bosses where you have to hit them with a certain number of papers. you could also have different characters with different attributes like speed, paper throwing speed, paper size, stuff like that

Not bad but whats with the small world music.

I know. But I don't know what game/what's the song name of that classic pizza song. I know it appears in Spiderman 2 but they don't have any midis for that game.

it's called Paper Boy. I can't remember what systems it was for, I'd try N64 and older.

As far as I know, you don't deliver pizzas in PAPERboy.

oh, I thought Paperboy was what you were talking about. Because it's similar, throwing papers at peoples houses...yeah. Sorry.

going at bottom of the screen renders mario unhitable and it makes this game pointless.

I think the song you're looking for is Finiculi, Finicula. Luckily, it was in Earthworm Jim 2.

Um, no it doesn't? Being further away from the houses makes it harder to hit the doorstep. >__>

Oh, and you can also be safe in the middle lane, smart guy.
