ok so I downloaded got HL2 episode 1.

when I play it I get a runtime error when I look at an explosion or something, like at the beginning when the combine are crossing that laser bridge, but I guess there's an explosion and they die, I don't know what happens because of the runtime error.

If you really truely downloaded it, I think you must have got a bad copy, but otherwise...


Let me find that one FAQ for errors on it, I think someone else had this before.

EDIT: Can you describe the runtime error in detail? Does it say anything else besides "Runtime Error?"

some sort of Visual C++ Error saying that something made the program terminate.

The only bug shared by other people is missing textures and models. I haven't seen anyone that has gotten a runtime error.
