It's limited only to me and my siblings, although my dad used to play Turbo Grafx with us and my mom, who had no prior video gaming experience, whipped my brother's ass at Tekken without even trying.

My brother only plays sports games (and sometimes racing) on his Xbox, so that should be a good indication of his literacy

My dad USED to play videogames (N64 and before), but it's pretty rare for him to do that now

I've only see my mom use a Gameboy twice, but it wasn't her choice

QUOTE (Jouw @ Aug 1 2006, 06:37 PM)
My mother refers to my PSP as a "playstation", DS as a "game" and GBA as a "game boy". Not to mention NSMB is just "mario" to her.

1. PSP = PlayStation Portable, so she's close.
2. DS = is, indeed, a game.
3. ...Do you expect her to say "Game Boy Advance" everytime she makes reference to it? Hell, I consider myself pretty gaming-literate, and I still usually just call my SP a Game Boy.
4. The NSMB thing is just picky.

My oldest brother refuses to learn how to play anything higher then a SNES. But he plays GBA in iraq.

He says there are too many buttons on the controls.

My parents refuse to play anything unsimple.

Same with my older sister.

But my older brother is "anything goes" type (but refuses to play 2D metroid games).

EDIT: my parents and sis call DS a stick game (tikku-peli) because, you knock the touch screen with Stylysh.

My dad played some old gaming systems when he was a teen. He is the one who got me into video games, since I was too shy to talk and play with other kids and also I'm a only child.

But he really like the sony products better for some reason. He was really into the whole graphics deal.

My mom used to play Yoshi's Island on the SNES. All the time.

My dad used to play SM64. All the time.

They passed their gaming interests to me.

My dad used to play SMB and Sonic 2, but now he doesn't play jack.

My sister tries to play games, but everytime she plays something that isn't a soccer game, she can barely play it. "Where's this Dustin?" or "OKAAAAY so what am I doing?" is all I hear.

My cousins love playing gamecube though and both are Mario Kart Double Dash freaks.
