How gaming-literate is your family?

oh yeah I remember when my cousins came over and they played Star Fox 64. I sucked so bad at the game so I watched them play it. I thought the Solar boss was Andross.

My cousin was actually the one who introduced me to gaming in the first place, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't play them any more.

My older sister plays Counter-Strike, Guild Wars, and Mortal Kombat, mostly. My younger sister plays the Sims, my Dad plays Microsoft Flight Simulator, and my Mom plays... Atari.

So yeah, I guess my family is pretty gaming-literate.

EDIT: Although I should add that none of them is really any good at what they play.

I'm the only gamer pretty much in my family, though occassionally my Brother and Sister will join me. I get my brother to write my Music though for any project I start (and never finish )

My sister plays Bratz the game.

I refuse to have anorexic prepubescent girls on my memory card.

My sister wanted that game so much...but when we got it, she never played it...it's still in it's plastic wrapping stuff...

My dad somtimes plays my PS2 (nothing else though). He's very good at burn out.

Well... my mother started playing HoMM2 since it was released and hasn't stopped since... she still plays it. She's a freaking god at it but she can't play other games for grass seeds. My father and stepfather don't care for games much but my stepfather had Microsoft Flight Simulator. My sister bought a DS Lite a few weeks ago and says she "doesn't have time to look up" from MKDS and NSMB. My stepsister has a PS2 and a GCN and a few games for each, and my stepbrother plays PS2 games all the time.

So... sort of gaming literate.

I wish I had a brother or sister to play games with.

My dad doesn't play, yet he bought all the systems for me and the family (except the SNES, that went to one of my brothers) up until the Gamecube.

My mom and grandma don't know anything about games and get angry whenever they find out I bought yet ANOTHER game, regardless of the awesomeness.

My sister and her boyfriend at the time got me into video games. I remember playing co-op Streets of Rage with her for hours and remember that she always wanted Blaze but couldn't select her quickly(what?). Eventually, she grew out of it.

...Writing those last sentence really gets me hoping that Streets of Rage will be on the Virtual Console so we can Co-op again for old times sake. Or at the very least, a decent co-op beat-em-up should be released.

My mom knows NOTHING about any game system after the Atari 2600. My Girlfriend' s mom however, has played and beaten every Zelda game to date except the GBA ones and Four Swords.

Dad: He's ok with games
Mom: Spongbob is her nemisis (couldn't beat one level of some Nick game)
Me: Aw hell yes. ;p
Brother, 12: Ok
Sister, 10: Can play some, but usually not well
Sister, 8: No
Sister, 6: No
Brother, 4: Extremely good at Mario Kart 64 - he can come in 7th on 50cc Grand Prix. Anything else he's not so good at.

Grandparents: ELECTRONICS?! BURRRRRN THEEEEM!

Cousins: I have a cousin Noah (he's 20-something) he's great with Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie, ans StarFox64, but since he lives far away, I know not much else. All of my other cousinis suck.

Not quite as literate as I am but their marks are pretty high.

Dad= Zelda:OoT, MK64 (he's okay, but nowhere near as I am)
Mom= no, and never
Me= Dangit, I'm teh 1337est in my entire family.
Sister 13= Sorta, mostly "AGH! HELPHELPHELPHELP!"
Brother 11= My biggest rival, almost as good as I am
Sister 9=No
Brother 7 = He sucks, but beats my 13 sister.
Brother 4=He plays, but sucks
Brother 2=yes/no

So basically, 4 player SSBM, Starfox Assult and MKDD is crazy, and usually ends with me on top, Bro 10 second, Sister 13 third, and Bro 7 fourth (cuz we love to kill him first)

Well, my mom once played SSBM, but she only plays whatever MMORPGs she plays now...I forgot what.

My grandma plays Tetris DS somewhat nicely...

My uncle can play quite well, and has a metric buttload of games.

Uhh...The rest, as far as I know, couldn't even move Mario. :P

Brother - not as much of a gamer as he used to be, but still grew up on video games.
Cousins - they always seem to have all the latest toys, so maybe.
Mother - thinks they are a waste of time. Yet she could easily just stare at a lake for hours on end.
Father - likes the old Mario and Sonic games, but doesn't play them. Only watches.
Grandparents - WHAAAAAT?! YOU ARE ACTUALLY CONTROLLING THE GUY ON THE SCREEN?!?

since you people are going into Uncles and Cousins and such..

The male cousins and one female cousin are quite Gaming litterate in my family..

My Grandma plays Gambling Video games

My grandpa, nope..

My One uncle has a Collection of snes games that most people here would Spaz over.

Brother is the closest, he's good at a lot of games, but really only better than me at RTS games

Sister plays a lot, but not as gaming-literate as my brother, she plays more things like RCT and sims type things probably, though she has played GTA3 and Vice City.

Mum plays clicky, adventure type things, like Myst, and a lot of pinball things and such, or word games and puzzle things, not much else

Anyone else I wouldn't know.

So you all know my brother, Chris, self-explanatory.

My sister plays some occasionally, but gets mad when me or Chris beat her. Instantly.

My parents will play Tetris sometimes, and Burnout, but, like, once every 3 months. They continue to harp on how video games will get us no where in life and that we need to stop playing them so much (ironically, I want to be a video game programmer).

Grandparents play Tiger Woods golf on their Playstation, and that's about it for video games. Though they own an NES (which they don't play, ever) which has SMB3 which equals OWNAGE.
