Only PK. My dad played Startropics though, and my mom plays solitare occasionally.

On a related note, I had to explain the Myst backstory to the mom of one of my good friends (she started playing the series on Exile and only knew that the brothers did "a bad thing").

QUOTE (Ryo @ Aug 1 2006, 07:48 PM)
mario kart 64

So like, to prevent this from being a spammy reply, when Mario Kart 64 came out, we'd play it from time to time, like a lot. And we'd all have our "exclusive characters" to use. I was always Mario for example. I remember my dad citing witty remarks during the races, and he still does that with everything. hur hur i guess we know where I got that from

Good times!

Well lessee...

My dad - Not much, but he seemed to liked playing Star Fox 64 when I had it

My mom - Nope!

My sister - Plays my Gamecube occassionally

My older cousin - Wasn't that NES that was in my grandparents' room originally his? And I think he still plays alot of games last I heard. And I think he played a small role in helping me get interested in video games...

My dad - illiterate. Enough said.

My mum - Same.

My brother, my cousin and I are very gaming-literate; we always have been.
We're all Nintendo fans. XD

It must be fun to have gaming literate parents, mine never play them at all, and when I get a new game they're always asking me what level I'm on and I'm trying to explain to them how games have evolved so it's no longer really about getting to the next level or making a high score

*incredibly dorky reply ends*

My dad will somtime play our PS2. He still doesn't know much about Nintendo, but I showed him Metroid Prime 2 and he enjoyed it. My mom once played Medal of honor because it was new years eve and my brothers and I wanted to play. So of course in the spirit of new years we did play with the family. She was Ok I guess, better than the average person when they first play a game. My sister somtimes play Mario party and many nintendo games. On her birthday I always get her games like this year I'm getting her Mario Party 7.

My sister plays games. She's a pretty different sort of gamer to me. She loves the Sims games. She likes messing around in sandboxes, and doesn't like being told what to do and where to go. When I play games I almost always settle into playing the role of the character, acting the way I'm meant to act. I never kill friendly npcs. In Deus Ex she won't bother with progressing through the game, she'd just load up one of my saves in a safe area and murder the friendly npcs. And pile bodies ontop each other and stuff. Same thing in GTA. She also likes/d the Tony Hawk games. And Gary's Mod for a bit. Wierdly, she's playing Phoenix Wright right now and loving it. Loves Pokemon too. Also loves/plays Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, SSBM (more than me). Played a bit of God of War too, liked that untill she got bored.

Mum: played some old games back in the day, not interested now.

Dad: used to play Commodore 64. Games are too complicated now. Willing to play with help. Sister used to give him gaming lessons.

(Non-blood related) Cousins: Two gaming brothers. One is unfortunately a Nintendo zealot. Hopefully he'll grow out of it, like I did.

QUOTE (Littlink @ Aug 2 2006, 05:41 AM)
Dad= Zelda:OoT, MK64 (he's okay, but nowhere near as I am)
Mom= no, and never
Me= Dangit, I'm teh 1337est in my entire family.
Sister 13= Sorta, mostly "AGH! HELPHELPHELPHELP!"
Brother 11= My biggest rival, almost as good as I am :blank:
Sister 9=No
Brother 7 = He sucks, but beats my 13 sister.
Brother 4=He plays, but sucks
Brother 2=yes/no

So basically, 4 player SSBM, Starfox Assult and MKDD is crazy, and usually ends with me on top, Bro 10 second, Sister 13 third, and Bro 7 fourth (cuz we love to kill him first)

DAM! YOU HAVE LARGE FAMILY!

When compared to mine:
Dad(47) = sucks in Mariokart and badly
mom(47) = same here
Me(18) = i´m mostly at my PC, but when my bro is at it I play either DS or GC
sister(23) = Moved away and has our N64, but rarely plays with it.
brother(19) = Plays mostly PS2, PC or even my GC.

Mom is a big fan of the oldskool Sonic titles, dad was very awesome at Galaga (but got rusty), uncle Jack from my mom's side was an avid gamer with the NES and SEGA Genesis (heck, he gave me his genesis when I was in 2nd grade), and uncle Paul on my dad's side has a large library of games for his Atari 7200.

Only my Dad shows some interest in games, except not good ones. His selection of games aren't too great, so he ends up playing mine on his old PC (Which also used to be mine). So he ends up playing laggy Tomb raider and screechy badly emulated DOS games (Because not even a DOS emulator will work on that PC). Plus he ruins all the point of games by using walkthroughs to get 100%, and this is on games like Half life too.

Plus he has a habit of buying crappy games for me at Birthdays/Christmas etc. Not to sound ungreatful about it, but the money spent on a bad game could have gone to a good game before they stop actually producing them. It's the reason I've still not played a Paper Mario or Mario & Luigi game, along with many others. Also he seems to buy "alternative" games to the ones that I'm looking for, so rather than getting, say, Crash Bandicoot, I'm given Kao the Kangaroo because it's cheaper.

Every other person in my family is either average, or doesn't play, except for my 5 year old cousin who struggles through Sonic Heroes and hasn't the foggiest idea what he's doing.

The only games my dad plays are old NES games, arcade games, and Driver. But when he does play those games, we usually play them together and it's really fun. =D But he calls my DS the "Nintendo Two Screen". But I don't care.

My mom doesn't know anything about video games. XD She thinks Lakitus ride marshmellows instead of clouds and throw cherries instead of Spinies.

My sister knows every name of every system and game she's ever played.
