My dad was the one who got me into playing videogames. He bought an SNES with Zelda: LttP, and beat it several times. He then proceeded to get an N64 and games like OoT, SM64, Quake 64, Banjo-Kazooie, etc.. Eventually, I got a Gameboy Color and got Pokemon Pinball and Pokemon Yellow, and it just kept going from there. He doesn't play games nearly as much, but he really likes the Resident Evil series. And he plays online poker.
My mom is almost completely illiterate when it comes to games. The only one she pwned at was Pokemon Stadium, and that's because I had a Mewtwo on Yellow that she used all the time. She played a bit of Donkey Kong 64 multiplayer. I beat her most of the time. Other than that, she can't play anything.
My grandmother was the same way, except once I somehow managed to convince her into playing Super Mario 64 once. She proceeded to jump into torches. Multiple times. On purpose. That made me get over my fear of dying in games (I had a somewhat truamatizing event on LoZ:LttP when I was little involving the Karakiko guards ambushing me when I thought towns were COMPLETELY safe). Bless her.
As for my family in the Phillipines, my uncle is good at all kinds games, though he prefers fighting games. When I was there on vacation when I was really young, we used to play Tekken every night. Recently, I got my cousins into the games I like. Tawtaw, only a few years younger than me, really liked MK:DD!!, and I can't help but remember how he would mock-sing-along with the music whenever I play in Baby Park. He also played Pokemon a bit, although he WAS the reason I almost lost my games forever (he managed to drop them down a couch, and I only found them because I lost a pencil in there). My other cousins had some experience, but he was better than all of them.
