This board sucks now <:D.

Go ahead, admins/mods, warn the **** out of me. I think it's worth it for me to speak my mind. But my request is that you don't lock this until there's a REASONABLE discussion here.

To those who whine that people are assholes on MFGG. Hey guess what? The majority of the MFGG population are teenagers. Teenagers are rough like that. And you're already at fault for getting all emotional about the "assishness" of people whom you don't even know in real life! And to said "assholes", it would help if you weren't so rough. You don't have a reason to be rough, so you shouldn't be.

And people, stop killing already-dead fads. They were funny the first time, but not the second, third, fourth, fifth, 54354353th time. Stop worshipping banned people like JBL. They were banned for doing stupid ****, and I suppose you want to be like them? Stop getting horny everytime a girl makes a topic. Just because a female joins a Mario forum, it doesn't mean they like you.

As for you "oldbies", don't whine when a newer member disrespects you. Being here longer doesn't mean anything.

As for new members, stop scaring the **** out of them. Do you recall that Randy Solem incident? Yeah. If you people don't want to be part of a forum that only seems to attract idiots, then why don't you guys stop caring about only yourselves, and help each other out, rather than putting others down.

I can't blame you administrators for the crappiness of this forum. Being admin of a community of over 1500 active members is a hard job. Especially when you have to lock at least 10 topics and warn/ban 3 people a day. And same goes to you moderators. I still respect you all for your dedication. In fact, I must thank you all for running a forum that actually changed my self-esteem and confidence in real life.

I'm going to have a wonderful summer break <3.

I agree with a lot of what you said but I'm not sure what you think this topic will accomplish. It's going to wind up being several pages of people discussing how much the board sucks/doesn't suck or how much the admins suck or how MFGG used to be better. Us admins are aware that the board could be in better shape but we're doing everything we can to fix things. I've complained about the members here enough times so I'm not beating that dead horse again.

I have to agree. I've been out and about and doing things a lot more this summer, and its definitely one of the best ones I've had. The more I come back to these boards, the more things and people here just seem ridiculous.

I agree entirely with this statement.

The earlier part of my summer was uneventful, so I spent a lot of my time here... Over the last few weeks, I've been very active in real life. Every time I came back here, there seemed to be some huge thing that happened resulting in multiple bannings. It's getting ridiculous.

That said, this is still one of the best boards out there.

At least this board is more sane than other boards.

It's just that the majority of the population here turned into assholes.

Yeah, within the last year or so there's been a lot more lofty patronizing going on.

The main thing that annoys me about this board is the sometimes rampant stupidity. Overused catchphrases and fads and people acting n00bish. Quite frankly a lot of the newer members are like this, and I find myself having the best time here when I'm posting on the "night crew" which is when a lot of my favorite posters seem to be most active and when we can actually have some humorous/meaningful discussion.

Most new members nowadays are under age 13. D:

Web and Cuckoo Man are the only people I know who act mature for their ages.

I think people just get tired of posting, and the community. A lot of new people are bashed, yet they still keep coming because they're intruiged by the community and the members. Once that initial reaction wears off, you pretty much don't have any other reason to post, other than to talk to friends you've made.

I personally think the board is fine. I like a lot of the new members. I thought I wouldn't like any of the "new generation" of MFGGers, but I've been continuously proven wrong.

It's not that hard to balance out real life and MFGG for some people, and it's impossible for others. It also doesn't make you "cooler" than anyone else if one side dominates the other. I've about had it with people trying to flaunt their "popularity", as well as people who think themselves as being superior to other members. Higher post count does not mean anything, and neither does having a "gf". You don't need either to have a good personality.

There's no such thing as not having a life. It's just a difference of opinion on people's interests, and it's a ridiculous thing to say to somebody.

I'm not gonna leave the place regardless, personally. :P I have a lot of fun here in spite of my complaints.

And I really like several of the newer members, it's just the bad apples that make me want to probate them infinitely. unsure.gif

I must agree with you, Jinpen, you're not the only one who sees this forum as having taken a turn to the crap side over the past year or so. I also have a life outside the forums. And well, yeah, n00bish behaviour annoys most.

People who build their entire lives around MFGG and people on the internet should step outside for a second.

Speaking of stepping outside, I gotta go to school for a couple of hours.

I have something to say also.
I really hate it when someone thinks you suck just because your interested in things they hate, or you dont like something they do. Here's a recent example:

I also have to agree with Klobber when he said that the forum really comes alive in a whole new way at night - in the sense of the forum sort of goes through an evolution over the day. It not being that active also gives members a good chance to browse through several topics without feeling pressured to make an immediate post. A lot of the people who don't get to post during the day, due to school/work/timezones, whatever really remind me why I love this place.

I wish there was some way to ban me during the daytime so I wouldn't feel obligated to argue in such ludicrous "daytime" scuffles.
