Yeah so mod me again

My Opinion is that MFGG has 3 sides Stupid, smart-ass, and a kind side where usually people over the age of 15 get to.

Some people think they are all "high and mighty" or think they are God-Awesome, however they are no different than other MFGGer or anyone else. Just because you have skill in Programming, Hacking, or Spriting doesn't mean you're Awesome You are as equal as everyone else here.

Also I noticed over the years here that people think other members are annoying and sometimes they will attack them in every topic. They make posts like "You're annoying" or "No one likes you" just to put you down... that has happened to me recently it is indeed one good way of lowing self-esteam, There is also other ways which should be pretty obvious.

One thing people here need to get over the most is NO ONE HAS THE SAME OPINION. Just because they think differently doesn't make them an idiot, I do not like Pokemon, I have my reasons that you might think are stupid as hell but yet you wouldn't understand anyways.

Also Popularity isn't the best way to go, this falls under the "high and mighty" crap.
I am one of the ones who don't believe in Popularity. People may seem to act like they are popular just by joining in the crowd or fads, some people seek Attention more than anything just because they want to be Popular... You are in the Wrong for this. Most of the time its only in your eyes some is trying to get attention, when they are really not... I've been one of the people who make a post or a topic then someone says I'm trying to grab attention.... WELL NO S**T, you too want someone to read your damn post.

The one thing That I cannot stand the most is when you make make a very rude comment on posts like "I had a girlfriend once" and some smart ass **** like "Your mom doesn't count" one of the things That Pisses me off the most. I honestly look at that as flaming and there needs to be warning for it. Sarcasm gets out of hand here at MFGG the Admins or Mods may not see it but MFGGers have found ways to implement insults/flames into Sarcasm. They say some stupid **** like "Its Sarcasm, jeez get over it".

if you get ban... don't blame it on admins or MFGG. its just that you were caught doing the Wrong, we all understand that everyone here can be complete idiots regardless of our knowledge.

also DO NOT make false judgements on people, so many people do that here to new members saying something stupid like "I think this person is [insert name of permabanned MFGGer]" If you are so sure it is, contact an admin about DON'T BE AN IDIOT AND BLURT IT OUT.

MARIO FAN GAMES GALAXY


So, can we have a headcount on the number of people who actually program or sprite or help develop a Mario fangame in a certain way? Or the number of people that do an in-depth review of a fangame to actually help the creator improve on what's needed or to compliment what's positive?

I'm taking the number of members from the old MFGG board, plus about 150 because I know only about that much actually do such things that aren't from the old MFGG.



And right now, we'll say about 1500 members.




From a ratio of fangaming to "being here for the sake of whatever discussion you want and no interest in helping fangames at all":

I am dreadfully sorry but there are a great deal more new members that fangame than there are old. Especially when you consider that so few members remain from the old board.

The real problem with fangaming is that people start BUT NEVER FINISH their projects!

Indeed. Which is why the number was raised to 450 instead of what I originally had planned: 175.

And that is a problem with fangaming, yes. However, at least such people are actually willing to engage in the activity that was originally intended at this site.

All they need is a bit of motivation. And I do believe the site upgrade did it. I have never seen so many updates within such a short time in my experience on the internet.

No amount of administration can fix some of the problems here...there are things that the members themselves will have to take it upon themselves to do. I can probate people until the cows come home, but it's not going to do much good unless people learn from mistakes and stop repeating them.

Mindlessly probating people isn't the answer anyway, that just makes us look like assholes. But I am still going to probate people who I feel deserve it.

Yes, and those that don't keep getting into trouble.

Exactly. I just have to hope people will learn from their probations, or from what the community advises them on. People kept giving Mechant grief about the French thing and he eventually did apologize for it and stopped doing it, and there's been several other members who were really n00by to begin with but learned over time. People have to learn stuff like this themselves through experience, you can't really beat it into them, but probations can help sometimes. Ultimately it's just a means to an end though, not a perfect solution.
