How do you spawn props and ragdolls with the console?

I know of the commands gm_makeragdoll and gm_makeprop. Are they used for this? How?

Also, how do I add stuff to the spawn menus?

Gamefaqs has some things for spawning npcs. Thats all i know.

To add things to the spawn menus you need to go to settings and then like menu_props. Sorry i dont have my other comp with me, so I cant check.
