| QUOTE | With recent news of EA bringing additional support to the Wii, both Ubisoft and Midway have confirmed a selection of projects in development for Nintendo’s unique machine, despite various developers claiming the Wii isn't capable enough.
During the Ziff Davis Electronic Games Summit yesterday, Ubi's North American president Laurent Detoc noted that seven titles are in development for the Wii, two of which have already been seen public ally: Rayman Raving Rabbids and Red Steel.
He praised the Wii various times during his announcements, saying he expects the Wii to have "a large audience and market" for "The first time I picked up that sucker I couldn't stop playing it."
Midway also confirmed their support, with six titles in development. One of these presumably being the recently confirmed Mortal Kombat for Wii.
Whether these titles (aside from those mentioned above) are exclusives or multiplatform are currently unknown.
Stay tuned for updates. |
| QUOTE | In a report over on Gamasutra about the financial status of Electronic Arts, the company spoke candidly to the website about its future plans. When talking about Nintendo's systems it was stated that production of games for the Nintendo Wii and DS have been 'ramped up' due to the significant excitement seen at this year's E3 event for all things Nintendo.
It was revealed that EA will likely ship two games during the launch window of the Wii, thought to be Madden 07 and Need For Speed Carbon, with five further titles due over the fiscal year, which ends in March 2007! As for the price of Wii games, EA executives mentioned how publishers will be making those decisions themselves, but the fact that Nintendo has stated First Party games will not exceed $49.99 / £29.99 means that perhaps EA will place its games at the same pricepoint, although nothing has been confirmed yet.
In other news, Will Wright has been speaking about his highly anticipated game Spore coming to consoles. Previously it was reported that the game would be coming to 'handhelds', many therefore assuming the PSP and DS would receive the game. Now Wright is pointing the finger toward Nintendo's Wii!

Awesome, with Ubisoft on board, this could mean Assassin's Creed comes to the Wii possibly, which is one of the 2 only games I want for the PS3 (MGS4 and Assassin's Creed). I can't wait, the Wii is sounding sweet so far and will not dissapoint.
