I'm sure everyone here as at least one horrible childhood experience to talk about that more than likely scarred you for life, let's hear about them. When I was little, maybe in kindergarten, I was in the living room eating breakfast and my mom was trying to light the furnace, which was in the kitchen. The way our house was set up the living room pretty much led directly into the kitchen, so I could look from where I was sitting and see her. This was an old furnace and you had to light it yourself, with a match. My mom had turned the gas on and was having some trouble getting it to light. Apparently there was too much gas by the time she finally got it lit, because the furnace proceeded to belch out a blast of fire that engulfed her. Picture yourself as a small child, looking up from your cereal bowl to see your mom walking towards you covered with fire. It was pretty terrifying at the time and I still get nervous about furnaces and things like that because of it. She finally managed to put out the flames somehow, I'm not sure how she even did it exactly. I remember calling my dad to ask for help and he couldn't really understand me since I was babbling incoherently the way small children do, but he understood enough to get help. What's even more amazing about this is that instead of calling an ambulance, my mom actually drove herself to the hospital even though she had some pretty serious burns all over her body. I dunno how she managed it. In case anyone wondered, my mom's not disfigured in any way because of this. She has trouble feeling things with a few of the smaller fingers on her hands because of how deeply they were burned, but otherwise there aren't any signs at all that something like this ever happened. The carpet in the living room of our old house (which we no longer live in) carried deep scorched areas in the shape of her feet for years afterward. Pretty scary, and proof that she really was completely on fire from head to foot. As scary as it was for me, it must have been even moreso for her. Anyone else have any terrifying childhood experiences?

Almost drowned, Almost set on fire, almost hit by a car, flesh ripped apart by a dog, hand chizled through, fallen in river, bitten by python, crushed by igloo, incredible appendix pains, Almost hit by another car, nearly hit by a firework x2 kthx, Head + tree = bad, attacked by several dogs, fallen near a waterfall, Beaten by brothers on many ocasions, lost so many times in supermarkets and woods,, Fallen down stairs twice, Almost crushed by many things, Beaten in school, fallen out of tree, attacked by freak lawnmower, almost choked on sweets(multiple occasions), incident with a motorbike, watching so many people being hit by cars, Car accident (I was a passenger :P), multiple threats and what not, other stuff, etc. etc.
Most of these aren't trauma to the extent, but meh.
