I tried, I really did! But I'm a bit cack at.. doing.. stuff...

Anyhoo, here's my attempt.

What I'm really aiming for is a series of sprites that fit the overall look of SuperMarioLand, but more colorful, and..good!
This is pretty much my 8,000'th attempt. The main issue being that the original sprites aren't really all that good. But when I flip between the two tilesets ingame, the difference between a "Normal" mario and the classic GB mario is insanely noticable.
To help, I did at least double the pixels on the original, hoping that I could smooth him out a bit. When I tried that, he looked ludicrously fat.
This attempt is being done after having tried out a rediculous number of other Mario Spites (mostly from this site), all of which show the glaring difference between Mario styles.

So, I'm really looking for a Mario sprite that looks very similar to the GB ones, but .. Aw, heck, you get the idea, right?

Anyone willing to give it a go? (And, yes, my "Large Mario's" animation is awful!)

Yep... But A) Trying to get it so the difference isn't so huge when it switches from one gfx style to the other, so the head's gonna have to be pretty big to compensate..
and.. B) Can anyone help?

this might sound dumb,but try removing the black outline so that it fits the classic style...

and as already said,try making his belly bigger laugh.gif

Right, I'm going to ask point blank.

Can someone else draw this for me, 'cos I'm really really **** at it...

+ 3 step animations + jump + Skid, as seen above. Feel fit to redo from start, but I want it to trade nicely between classic GB and the new style, so not too drastic a difference, thanks.

As I code my games in Blitz Basic, I tend to use normal plain bmp/png/jpg images, and have absolutely no idea how to access a cca file. I'm sure they're handy, but any way you could create a plain spritesheet out of them? Thanks..
