Will the book be avaible at places like Chapters soon or another?

I actually got a copy of the book on Tuesday. Klobber wasn't kidding when he told me I was in for a treat because at Lulu, they do these books up WAY better than some of the stuff you see in stores. I was going effing nuts like the N64 kid.

Speaking of stores, unfortunately, if you guys wanna see it in stores, it may not even reach the online ones until September, let alone the regular ones. This is where I'll need your help to do some localized marketing in your areas for me. I'll let you know when the online bookstores start to pick up the books. When they do, I'll need you guys to head off to the IRL versions of these bookstores and ask for your copies by name.

Tell them you know the guy who wrote the book! Beg them to get the copies on the shelf because I need the exposure!

It's not a lot on your part, though a few of you will have to wait for quite a while to get your own copies of the book due to being unable to buy online. But every little bit of marketing helps!

Told you so. I was very impressed with the quality of their publications (and it friggin should be impressive, it's pretty expensive for colored works).

Nobody that lives anywhere near me knows what anime or manga is.

$.15 a page, but it would definitely be worth it if I ever got around to doing that.

When I DO work on the Volume 1 and 2 Collection, I'm considering doing it in color, but it might be kinda pointless and pricey seeing as how most of the book will be black and white.

Gah, and I keep forgetting other random tidbits of news related to this and I don't want it getting passed over during edits, so if this is a double post, I apologize.

Anyway, regarding marketing, I'm currently talking to the manager at my school's bookstore. We're working on getting it in the store there and if all goes well, not only will they sell it, but they'll also initiate some events, like book signings.

There's also another campus bookstore up the block from my school, so I'll try and take it there and see what they say.

Speaking of events, I've talked with one of my friends and she's trying to encourage me to go to an anime convention sometime next year. I'm very seriously considering going with her, so let's hope that by then I have the funds to accomodate the trip

I would've gone to DragonCon out here in Atlanta to show off indie style, but the timing sucked and I didn't hear about it until about two weeks ago.

Damn, I never thought of doing stuff like book signings (mainly because I figured nobody would care), you're inspiring me to take promoting more seriously

You: Good day sir, do you happen to have a copy of RyuFox Legends in stock?

*Until it actually sits on store shelves, you have to ask for it by name*

Associate (if yes): Right this way, sir *associate directs you to where the book can be found*

Associate (if no): No, I am sorry sir. We don't carry that book. Perhaps we could--

You: LISTEN MOTHERF**KER I WANT THAT DAMN BOOK DON'T GIVE ME ANY OF YOUR BULLS**T SUGGESTIONS *you aim a gun at the associate's head*</sarcasm>



In all seriousness though, I think the most you'd have to do is check with your bookstores ask them if they have a copy of the book in stock. If not, ask them if they'll kindly place in an order for the book. If their distributor doesn't yet carry the book (they should within a month or so of this exact posting), then direct them to my page on Lulu, http://www.lulu.com/kpress.

From there, they should be able to still order you a copy. It'll take about a week to fulfill the order, give or take a few days for shipping. Once it arrives, the bookstore should contact you to let you know when they have the book for you. But if you go into the store with the intent to market the book, they may also go as far as getting a few hundred copies in stock. Either way you do it, we all win
