its pretty good, black wasnt the best bk color though

Recolours don't exactly show spriting talent. This is a spriting competition after all. Showing off one's talent.

Not quite, some sprites will need recolouring + changing, for example Wario needs to be fatter and uglier and will need more then just a recolour, talent is showed when Wario looks good.

People don't care for that. They're suckers for anything that has been edited or worked off of Nintendo's official sprites.

I also agree, seems unfair to get same or better results (badge) with less effort.
I'll create my skeleton bowser soon, but ill wait for some more entries first.

irrelevant, they won't win unless they do more than just recolor it, so it's pretty much throwing your entry away if you just enter a simple recolor
