I've been playing DnM using a walkthrough and emulator. So annoying. Has anyone here ever tried this game? (And no, AC doesn't count).

Edit: Not so big a picture. Also shows off the blatant Sony reference.

I assume this is the unreleased N64 version of Gamecube's Animal Crossing.

Basically, it's the only version of AC I can play.
Never played AC (I don't have a Gamecube).
Apparently, AC has a lot of new things.
From what the walkthrough I read said: it doesn't have a museum, Able Sisters or dock. And it's all in Japanese.
It also includes an obvious pointer to the PS1 - looking at the house signs, you can clearly see the circle, triangle, square and X.

Edit: Nevermind, just saw the Project64 title

And why can't you play ACWW, I thought you had a DS

I have ACWW. After playing this though, it's not the same (why is so much missing from ACWW?). I was counting as "AC" only the series of DnM, AC and DnM+.

What's missing from ACWW? I thought it was pretty much the same game except for stuff like lack of NES carts and no real holidays

Well, just from comparing DnM, AC and ACWW..
The shrine/wishing well
The dock
The lighthouse
The polcie station
The train station
Different land levels
A bigger map
More villagers
(I haven't counted the dump because it's replaced by the recycle bin).

That's quite a significant list of things. Especially when you consider the DS has similar power to a N64, I'd expect better.
Even the title "Animal Crossing: Wild World". HELLOOO? At least I'd expect a bigger world than the original AC!

I know that. This is actually the original though (AC came later). AC was also released in Japan as Doubutsu no Mori+ for the GC, translated back, with all the new features. Unfortunately I can't play AC though.

Doubutsu no Mori = Animal Forest = Japanese game
Animal Crossing = Everywhere else
In fact, take a look at this:

Yes, but you're acting like you've found the Holy Grail. A mass produced, re-made, and translated* Holy Grail.

*Not exactly in that order

Lol, I did this ages ago.

It was kinda fun. but useless since I couldn't get it to emulate with the Rice plugin.

Works for me in Project64 and Jabo's Direct3D8 plugin. Although for inventory problems (press Start and it takes ages to open. then when it does, there's a black square over the pointer and part of the screen making it hard to see). Also, it runs really fast and nicely (in full-screen 1280x1024 with Super2xSal texturing turned on it runs very well)

edit: Just tried further.
At 1024x768 (windowed) it starts to get a little slow, with around 50fps. But it's also really clear (I can even see the line where the acres end and start)

Ï can't rip the 3d or textures.

I usually rip models with a openGL plugin and textures with the rice one.

Rice's Daedalus 5.2.0 runs DnM. The rendering is messed up though (water weird shades, changes colour in different acres, badly rendered trees). It crashes on Project64, but works on Nineteen64. On something else.. Can anyone translate something for me? (I'll post it in the help forum now)

Ok I'll just state this plainly since no one else has the guts to tell you:

Animal Crossing is still called "Animal Forest" in Japan, the GCN version was Doubutsu no Mori +, and the DS version is Oide yo Doubutsu no Mori.

It's Animal Crossing. It was the original version, but Animal Crossing is not some fancy take off, all the sprites and 3D models in your screenshots exist in the newer versions too. The game was remade many times because 64DD never took off, and because the GCN game didn't have a very accessible multiplayer (and yet it sold very well).
