what do you guys think of my idea and how do you like it so far? (I'll update it as I go)

That's obviously just a flattened Luigi. I was able to take an MLSS Luigi and get the same result in less than 10 minutes.

Kitsune, its not a flattened Luigi, I've said that, its pretty much an edit though, and a flattened Luigi would just be fuzzy, notice how mine isnt fuzzy.

That's just a flattened Luigi, slightly redrawn. You'd prolly have done better recoloring Midgit Mario and redoing his moustache.

actually, it is a bit fuzzy, but that's beside the point. if i'm correct, it sounds like you're trying to say you edited out a few pixels, or a few lines of pixels to make him shorter. even if you didn't use the whole 'drag-and-drop square thing', that isn't the only method of 'flattening', and what you did IS called flattening because ALL YOU DID WAS "EDIT" THE SPRITE TO MAKE HIM SHORTER.

No, I meant that shrinking the Luigi sprite actually takes an ever-so-slight amount of skill. Simply recoloring Mario...Does not. Plus, isn't recoloring frowned upon?

Dude, both of those take little to no skill at all. If he did recolor it and maybe fix the moustache to look like Luigi's, that'd take a lot more effort than this.

OK look, I never use paint EVER!
I use GIMP, and I took the Luigi sprite and mashed him down and added a new layer and then copyed the fuzzier one down oto the new layer and made it so it wasnt fuzzy, so its a little more complcated than squishing Luigi down and editing a few pixels, so please just get off my back!

Not that much more effort, but more nonetheless.

That just CONFIRMS the fact that you really didn't put much effort behind this. Next time do it pixel by pixel. Not only will people not pick on you, but you'll feel better in the end knowing you did more than just resize a sprite.
