Thunder, you should read the SA forums sometime, we had an incredibly in-depth discussion on what we'd do during a zombie outbreak. Some people have really thought it through.

You should also pick up "The Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks if you haven't already!

SA? What does that stand for?

SomethingAwful, there was this huge topic about zombies. Some people took photos of their insane looking gun collections, and people were talking about attack strategies and where they would go in the event of an outbreak and all this other stuff. If there ever is a zombie outbreak I'm calling up one of those guys.

If there was a zombie outbreak, I'd probably hide in the basement. o.o

The ability to survive a zombie attack also depends somewhat on the conditions for zombification. If the dead come back to life because of some space radiation or whatever it was in Night of the Living Dead, all you have to do is not die, there's room for a couple bites or scratches provided they're minor. If it's some kind of virus like Resident Evil, if you get bitten you're screwed.

I didn't even get to BE a zombie in MFGG Zombies.

I dunno, I think if a zombie bites you you're pretty much done for whether the zombie bites cause re-animation or not, cuz think about it - they're FILTHY. Even a little bite would probably kill you unless you got medical attention really fast.

Animal Zombies are more creepy.

I hate them. I have nightmares about them all the time.

And Zombies CAN use weapons, given that their previous life was involved.

A zombie that used to be a soldier would have some knowledge in firing a gun. Go watch Day of the Dead >:(

The Flood are parasites, much like the headcrab zombies from Half Life. But neither are true zombies. They are not 'living dead', as neither of them are truly alive, only the things attached to them, manipulating the bodies are. And those haven't died yet.

Ignoring the fact that the dead getting up and walking because the moon is shining in a funny way is absolutely impossible along with so many other zombie things.

It would also depend on a lot of luck. Even if you're the most prepared guy in the world who has a designated hideout stocked with weapons and supplies, you could still be caught off guard. When the zombies rise up, you could be trapped at the DMV waiting for your ride, or you could be behind bars awaiting bail, or you could be in the hospital because of a sudden mishap.

How the hell would they get out of their coffin?
