New Sonic 06 trailer, Looks very actiony, but a bit cliche'

Awesome, Tails can be playable! Hopefully this means Knuckles can too, that'd make my day. This pretty much confirms that there will be unlockable characters such as Tails and Knuckles. I'm very happy about this, Sonic Team isn't forgetting the REAL Sonic characters! Also, mechless Tails=win. I can't wait to see what Knuckles and Blaze look like in next gen graphics. Also, I hope they all have different abilities and such, I don't want to play as Sonic clones, but just seeing Tails out of a mech playing alone makes me smile, now Knuckles screens plz. Though I got to say, if you look past the storyline and just look at the gameplay and level design (For Sonic/Tails' levels atleast), this is what 3D Sonic should have been (Or atleast one definition of the way it should be).

Tails out of that stupid mech is automatically ****ing win. I hope his levels are just like Sonic's, no race this guy to the finish bull**** we got in adventure.

By the way, where did this screen come from? Is there a source?

Apparently someone from a site called Sonic Style hacked the main site and found this. Noone saw this before, so we might get a small update this weekend or something. I hope so, I'd like to see more of Tails and Knuckles.

I am guessing that they checked the site's swf files and were lucky enough to see images that were uploaded in preperation for a soon to be update ahead of time. I was too busy trying to gain access to the Blaze render image >> Unless they were unfinished it's likely this will be the contents of the next update, though we still may get a bio render or somesuch.

I wonder when the next update will be? Probably this week or weekend, when new Sonic games come they usually update fairly often as the release date nears.

Wait, how do we know this is playable? That could just be an NPC or cutscene. =/

I doubt that robots and boxes would be in the background if this was a cut scene. I guess we'll see this following week.

I wasn't able to find any images myself that were not on the site, so I wasn't able to find any image of Blaze. :<

Maybe Tails and the like are playable in multiplayer only? I mean I thought they worried about the too many playable characters thing, which would make Tails a basic character in multiplayer, though it'd be great if they were able to make all the unlockable/etc type characters play well and different.

I think I heard that there will be unlockable characters to play as in one and two player, so Tails might not have to do anything huge with the storyline, but it's possible that there will be a level select/free roam mode where you can play as any character and go anywhere as you please.

Wait, Blaze render? GIMME.

Just hold your horses, it'll be shown(or uploaded and THEN extracted) eventually, till then you get what's on the site, a shilouete and the internal file name "Blaze".

Sonic looks so out-of-place in those cutscenes.

Like I said before, we'll probably get an update within the following week of weekend. I hope they tell us if Tails and Knuckles are truly playable, hopefully in all stages. That'd be nice, I think it should work something like this:

Finish Sonic's story: Unlock Tails
Finish Shadow's story: Unlock Knuckles
Finish Silver's story: Unlock Blaze
Finish final story: Unlock Super Sonic/Metal Sonic
Get all S rank: Unlock Metal Sonic/Super Sonic

Of course all the character's levels would/should be slower versions of Sonic's but without the mach speed areas. Except maybe Blaze, but I don't know.

Sorry about double posting, but big news (Kinda), Thrippa from SSMB translated the leaked jap Sonic page, here's what it said under the Tails image:

So this truely confirms pretty much every Sonic characer playable in speed levels! That makes me happy, Sonic characters were ment to be speedy this is great. I know I'm going to get yelled at for this but this game appears to be exactly what kinda of Sonic game I've wanted since Sonic Adventure. Hopefully each character won't have gimmicky actions (Like weapons and stuff), yet they won't be Sonic clones and can get around levels with different actions than Sonic himself. I am happy, I will finally get to play as Knuckles in a speedy level, I've always wanted to do that. If Sonic Team manage to make the camera exceptable and the controls enjoyable to play this game might be better than Sonic Adventure.

Also, it says characters "call" Sonic and help him in the stages, kinda like in Shadow but they don't give you missions. Hopefully this time they won't talk with their grating voice work and the A.I. will be loads better. I wonder if it works like this in Shadow and Silver's levels? Maybe not, as they use different methods of control and attack than most Sonic characters do.
