Kaepora at least made a real contribution; but of course he brings up the one point that eludes me... what is really going to be in that initial release; is it going to be fairly limited? Or does the Virtual Console launch with several hundred games, and then just add a few every few weeks from then on out?

I think sadly we're looking at a slower start than we might want, because only a handful of games were shown at E3 as playable, and the ESRB ratings for these Genesis games have added a few new titles thankfully... but what is considered a 'good' launch for something like this? I mean even at 50 titles we're looking at more than has ever been offered before, so we have no right to be upset, and I'm still lining up for this console regardless if the Virtual Console's offerings are void of anything I want first day

Yeah uh, that was the Genesis games we were talking about. Don't worry I saw your post before you edited. Yeah, that list on Kotaku was fake.

The one Kritter is talking about was linked from Kotaku, it was just some fake game list that -still- yielded complaints from people because it had like, two Mario Kart titles and some obscure 3rd party picks like Rayman 2 and other junk that were obviously just the rumor monger's personal favorites (and thus, his dream list).

And people call ME bitter.

The initial release is likely to be small, but sice the Wii is supposed to be connected to the net 24/7, providing you have the capabilities, there's always room for expansion. I think even if the Virtual Console only offers a small taste of what it MIGHT become, it will be more than enough to get people interested in the service, and more reason for expansion.

Well the fact that they want these like, player created titles on there as well seems to indicate the scale of this thing is going to be massive, at least eventually. I can't shake the NOA staff quotes that indicate separate packaged releases though, which really probably makes the most sense (think Classic NES series coming out in bundles as it did). Just too easy to look at it and go "omg all the games ever", and then realize business is business and I might be waiting til release 6 for certain games

EDIT: Also, I'm trying to get the Kotaku list but I think they may have taken it down...

Bah, seriously though the only reason I should be exited about this is for the N64 games I can't play on PC properly, or can't find the roms for.

Also one final note about roms. Since you're posting on a forum which involves ripping nintendo's sprites I don't see how anyone can really pick out people for mentioning roms and telling them off like a teacher. Everyone here who's ripped sprites has roms. Period. So if you really want to get a message to people calling them theives, then you should make a new topic saying how we're all thieves and going to hell and see how long it lasts.

Oh and hey nightwing don't delete mugen's illegal copy of doom I sent him so we can play cause I know you do that sort of stuff to him

I think I've made plenty of topics about that.

As for Mugen, he's an adult; he can make his own decisions, I'm not his mother and I'm not as Dr. No would say a "stupid policeman". I'm just letting you know that some people are excited about the virtual console because owning games legitimately isn't so bad.

I own half those games legitimately anyway on the consoles. Infact I bet most people who are looking forward to them do.
