Gay Rights, Discussion time!

Gay rights are supposed to be as anyone's rights, but they're actually not.
I've seen throughout history gay people were accused, burned or bullied alot.

My view is that gay rights should be as any other right, but I don't think they should be allowed to get children though, that'd just confuse the damn child.

Not much more confusing than interracial parenting used to be.

If anything, gays adopting children at least gets them a roof to live under. Not that I know anything about what it's like to live in the adoption agency but I'd imagine something permanent to be better.

It's just a form of acceptance the child and parents have to come to.

IMO gays should be allowed, but that doesn't mean I like the fact it happens.

Allowed to exist, do whatever. I have a few gay friends. I treat them as friends because they're nice people.

I don't like the thought of being gay though, it's gross. Even lesbians turn me off and that's apparently weird for a guy.

Children already have single parent families, and there's adopted children too, don't really think that's any more confusing to the child than having two parents of the same sex

Honestly it's not a matter of whether they're allowed to exist or not. They do. It's not really a choice either. We don't know why a dog likes to lick its ass but we don't lock it up with a ball and chain until it knows better.

Well exactly. I don't mind that they are gay or not as long as they don't try to convince me to being it.

Is there even any debate here? I really don't think there's any fiercely anti-gay people on the forums at the moment, this topic seems to just be preaching to the choir since we're all pretty much in agreement.

I think 99% of the forum are going to agree with that.

The only REAL problem I have is bi's who go bi for the fun of it. For instance, emos. Emo guys are all Bi. They kiss other guys because (some)girls love it. Funny how their emo ways suddenly change to casual when they're indoors.

That's quite an exaggeration. I don't think all emos go bi.

I've seen about a hundred different definitions for emo by this point. Agreed that people who say they're bi/gay/whatever just for attention suck.

Can't really explain. You just KNOW some things like this.

Basically it's just a stereotype.

It's not a "stereotype." It's more of a clique and a style. "Emo" isn't a stereotype just like "Black" isn't a stereotype.

If you're a part of the emo crowd, you most likely: listen to sappy music about breaking up with girlfriends or being shunned from society or something, wear thick-rimmed glasses, wear tight or short sweaters or sweatshirts and tight shirts, wear tight jeans, and dye your hair black. That is the "emo style" for boys. I'm not so sure about girls though, 'cause emo girls look kinda hot and I don't really pay attention.

Anyway, I think 99% of the forum agrees, gays should have all of the same rights as everyone else. When it comes to kids, as long as the parents are responsible and explain to their kid their situation, everything is okay.
