Super Homstario Bros., DOUBLE DEMO'D (since 10-14-06)

The first game I tried to make was this, but I didn't do it well, so I abandond it to make another game. now I'm starting over, and, although the story is mostly the same, I should soon have a new engine test to show you.


Update: well, now I have an engine test, so I want you're opinon on it! It has all of mario's power-ups, and some goombas, but not much else.

Story:
One day, mario was watching TV at his hose after a long dayof training, when he sees a TV report that startles him. It said "Mario Mario has recently announced that the next nintendo game will be created by a person who was chosen in a contest. This game will then be the flagship launch title of the Nintendo Wii, and will utimatly decide the future of not only Nintendo's Reputation, but also Mario's as well. Here's Mario annoucing the winner..."

Then, the TV shows what appears to be a red-eyed mario with an antenna sticking out of his head, standing in front of the Nintendo HQ. It says, in a near perfect voice, "And the winner is..." and then he says, in a mettalic sounding voice "STRONG-BAD" and then, in the normal voice, "And now we will-a send the victory E-mail to STRONG-BAD to let him know that he won!"

Then the Real Mario, puzzled at this, Leaps out of his chair and goes out to find this "Strongbad" person, hoping that it isn't too late...


One day, Strongbad gets on his Lappy 284 and types SBemail.exe on the command consle, singing "Old mc Strongbad had an Email, E-Mail-E-Mail-O!" and an E-mail appears that says:


Dear STRONG-BAD,

Congradulations!
You have won the contest to create the
new mario game! When you're done, send it
to MFGG.net so they can send it to us.

Signed Nintendo (and not a super villan)

P.S. this is not some sort of trick
to get you to make a really bad video
game, thus ruining Mario's reputation.


Strongbad reads this out loud, and says, "Hm... This is strange. I don't ussually get E-mails like this. Still, I can't say no to a challenge!" Then he spends 5 minuts on his computer, drawing poor graphics, and crating a shoddy engine. he then makes one level and says, "Wow! This has got to be one of the greatest games ever! Still, I don't think it can live up to the standards of E.T., or Advanture for the atari. So, untill next time, Keep sending E-mails, and I'll keep on doing amaaaaaaazing feats!" and then The Paper comes down.

Then, Strongbad hears homestar shouting "Stwongbad! I gots some stuff for you!" and qwickly runs away. and homestar comes into the computer room, holding a bag of moldy bread and shouts "Stwongbad? where awre yo- hold it, what's this?" as he notices strongbad's game. "Well, I bettew see if it's any gewd befor sends it off to Nintwendo." so he plays it for a while, and decovers that the game is really, really poorly made. "Wow, this is the wowrst fangame since Paper Mawrio Wowrld. If this it the Wii's launch title, Mawrio and Nintewndo are doomd! I've got to do somthing, but what?"

and then, Mario suddenly crashes through the window, (knocking over the house of french bread that Strongsad was making) and finds Homestar standing in front of the computer. He then pushes Homestar to the side to play Strongbad's game, and says "Wow, this-a is the worst a-fangame since a-Paper Mario World. If-a this is-a the Wii's launch title, Me and-a Nintendo are doomed! I've got to-a do a-something, but a-what?"

and Homstar says "Hey! I just said that! If your gonna take my pwace, then at least let me pack my bags, or at the verwy least let me fill out my change-of-adress fowrms!" Mario then explanes to Homestar that they now have to fix the bad game Strongbad made, to keep his reputation from being ruined, all beaucse of the evil mario robot. Homstar thinks about this for a second, and says, "No! Wait! I've got a better idea! How about you and I fix the horwibble game Stwongbad made, to keep Mario reputatiojn from being ruined!" and mario says "But I'M a-Mario!" and homestar goes "Gasp! Then that means that the Mario I saw on the News was just a robot!" and mario groans, and says "a-yes, exactly..."



Meanwile, in the year 20X6 (which, although may seem impossible to use "Meanwhile" to decribe what takes place in the futre, only proves that time isn't as liniar as you may think), the challenging fighter Stinkoman is going about his daily buissness, jumping around and smashing robots, accidently smashes a glacier and finds a golden Koopa shell in it. He then bites it and shouts "Heeeeeeeeey! This isn't a Power Crunch! It's some sort of Golden Shell thingy! I know! I'll use it as a doorstop!"

Then The Shadowy Figure comes up to stinkoman and points saying, "Hey, isn't that some sort of evil villan that needs to be stopped that you need to drop your shell to go fight?" but Stinkoman says "Ha! Your my Arch-Nemisis! I cant beleve a word you say!" to witch The Shadowy Figure replys "Your right, it's only a flying ice cream truck." and stinkoman says "Oh boy! Ice Cream!" and dashes off. Then The Shadoy Figure grabs the shell and runs away, manicly laughing the eintire time.

Then Stinkoman stops running and comes to a starteling relization: "Hey! Ice cream trucks don't fly! They hover! That The Shadowy Figure probobly took my koopa shell! Is he asking for a CHALLENGE?" so he jumps into his Stinkowing and flys off with the intention to a beat the snot out of The Shadowy Figure...


Controls:

Arrow Keys: Move
Shift: Jump
Ctrl: Dash, Shoot,
Down+left/right: Slide if MegaMan Mario

Goal
Wolrld Map:
On the world map you must move either Mario or Homestar to a level, and press shift to begin a level.

Action Stage:
you must get to the gate at the end of the level to clear it, whereupon, you can access the next level in the world

Adventure Stage:
There is at least one of these stages in every world. they can be bypassed completely, but if you play it, you can find hidden silver coins, as well as secret stars and other items.

Minigame Stage:
To beat this stage, you must beat a minigame.

Chericters:

Mario: The hero of the mushroom kingdom, Mario runs slower than Homestar, but he has the most power-ups in the game, and is capible of restoring health by eating mushrooms.

Homestar: The armless guy of Free Country U.S.A., Homestar can jump higher than mario, and can also run faster than mario. Unfortunently, he only has a few power ups, and can't use mushrooms.

Stinkoman (Certain Levels): The challenging fighter of the year 20X6, He cant run as fast or jump as high as Mario and Homestar, but he can shoot stuff and has 5 different weapons

?????????: No one knows who this chericter is, but he plays sort of like the "Castlevania" with a whiplike weapon. of course, you'll have to see what I mean by whip-LIKE...
It's also rumored that he's very random and spontanious, and recently became an expert on Game Maker 6

Secret Cheracters:

Dengakuman: a small, blueish-white little guy from anime you pobobly never heard of. He may love grilled-tofu-dipped-in-miso-on-a-stick, but he accells at gathering coins, geting 2 of them for every coin he collects.

Don Patch: a orange, little, spikey guy from an anime you pobobly never heard of. His abilitys are unkown, but are trigered with the run button, and are randomly selected.


Power-ups:


All Powerups:

Coins: used to buy stuff at Bub's Consession Stand

Stars: there is one in each level, and collecting them can earn you various unlockibles...

1-up shrooms': gives you an extra life!

Thing in a Red Bag: Collect 5 of them in a level to earn an extra life, as well as 25 coins!

Silver Coins: Gives you 10 coins. Can only be found once, and even then, only on adventure levles

Silver Stars: Collect 5 of them in a single level to get a normal star!


Mario's Power ups:

Red Mushroom: Restores your HP to the fullest.

Fire Flower: Lets Mario Shoot Fireballs.

Tankooie suit: Lets Mario Fly for brief periods of time

Blue Koopa Shell: Lets Mario turn into a koopa shell when dashing, as well as allows him to swim faster

Yoshi Suit: Lets Mario eat his enimies

MegaMan Suit: Lets Mario shoot a megabuster, as well as slide

Mini Mushroom: shrinks mario so he can run on water, and jump higher

Bowser suit: The Ultimate suit! it lets mario shot fireballs, andturn into a koopa shell.


Homestar's Powerups:

Yella' Paint: contains cool shades that defend the next attack that hits homestar

Blue shell: Allows Homestar to surf on a blue shell, even on top of the water

Bronco Trolly: Adds 5 coins

Strongbad Suit: Allows homestar to punch enemies.

The Cheat Suit: Allows homestar to run on water and open cheatgates

Coach Z suit: Allows Homestar to run and swim faster


Stinkoman's Powerups and Weapons:

Power Crunch: completly restores health

Spoooooooooon: Restores Ammo

Double Duuuuuuuuuuuuce buster: takes no ammo| a simple straight shot

Double Duuuuuuuuuuuuce: takes all ammo | destroys all enimies on screen

Arrow'der: Takes 5 ammo| fires a spray of minorly damaging arows

Ice Sword: Takes 2 ammo| kills any enimy that stands in front of stinkoman

Jorb Granade: Takes 2 ammo |a granade that explodes with the sound "Jorb!"

Thundarga: Takes 5 ammo | creates thunder that hits enimies that are ahead

Hammershot: Takes 3 ammo| throws a hammer that damages an enemy moderetly

Burninator: Takes 10 ammo| this incorrectly named flamethrower shoots a bunch of chocolate dollar bills that home in onthe nearest enemy

Pocket Chomp: Takes 15 ammo| releases a Chain Chomp that eats all enimies in it's path untill it hits a wall


Enimies:

Goombas: a bunch of stupid enemies who can be goten rid of easily by jumping on their heads.

Koopas: Green shelled trutles who's shells can be kicked when jumped on

The Ugants: werid green guys wraped in bandages who throw ninja stars at you and avoid you at all cost.

Robots: these robots take only a couple shots for stinkoman to kill

Jump bots: these robots are big and jump around alot, but dont shoot you, although they can crush you

Sniper Joe: this robot cant be hurt unless his shield is down

Metur Virus: these enimies only exist on the internet, and are like goombas that shoot at you





Worlds:

Hero Acadamy: A school for various superheros, which is located in the mushroom kingdom. here, you'll learn the basics and stuff. Bosses: FF1 Virus, Kammy Koopa

Free Country U.S.A.: The home of Homestar runner. Help Homestar win a race! Yay! Bosses: The Ugants, Strongbad

Mushroo-mellow Fields (and Walled Mart): the road along the border between the Mushroom Kingdom and Free Country U.S.A. as well as Strongbadia. They have a special on graphic and sound cards. Bosses: King Goomba, Blue Lazer

Free Country U.S.A. 20X6: Stinkoman's Relm. Help Stinkoman bring his Double Duuuuuuuuuuuuuces upon the face of bad enimies! Fight Shadowy Figure! Get Golden Shell! Bosses: Cut Man, Plant Man, Guts Man, Mega Man, Dengaku Man, The Shadowy Figure

Toad Highway: Fawful has taken his supervillan carrer in a new direction during his mid-life crisis, and has formed a biker gang! now you have to track him down and get your sound card back! Bosses: Croog's Doom Dozer V.2, Fawful

The Internet: Now that the computer is fixed, you now have to get the graphics off the internet. problem is, Stronbad doesn't have an internet browser! but that's no problem, thanks to E. Gadd's new invention... Bosses: 1337 Hamm3r Broz.

Stinkoman's Challenge: Now that he has gotten his koopa shell back, he rushes off to the present and teams up with Dengakuman in order to enter the 2nd bi-annual Subcon Triatholon, in order to fight the challenge, and win a snow cone as well! Bosses: The Red Dozers, Naruto /Sauske, Koopa Bros., Goomba Bros., Wobbafett & a fruitcake, Super Homeschooligi Bros., The Straw Hat Pirates (with Zolo)

MFGG HQ: Time to submit it! avoid enemies and stuff as you progress though various stages based on MFGG classics! Bosses: MFGG Virus, Doofliss, Mecha-Koopa Doofliss,

Koopa Kingdom: This is it! Bowser has stolen the game you have been working on for the past 8 worlds! Now, it's time for revenge! Bosses: Dracula, Super Omodengakuman, Tatanga, Bowser


Bosses:

Kammy Koopa: Bowser's right hand koopa, loves to summon her minions with her magic.

Strongbad: With the help of Strongmad and The Cheat, Strongbad has taken the lead in the race! now Homestar must defeat strong bad to do win the race

Blue Lazer: A gang of The Cheat Look-alikes who have a deep hatrid for graphic and sound cards, as well as a big robot that can crush stuff. two words: AVOID ROBOT! USE YOUR ROBOT TO KILL IT! THIS IS MUCH MORE THAN TWO WORDS!

The Shadowy Figure: Stinkoman's Arch Nemmises stole shell! Puncha-punch him till stummy hurts like pie!

Fawful: Now that fawful has taken his supervillan carrer in a new direction, he has formed a biker gang and has sworn to destroy any Fink-Rats that get in his way! EAT MY FURY!

1337 Hamm3r Broz: (note to self, translate this to 1337) hah! we will rock you nOObs! fear the 1337 Broz., or we will hit you with our cool hammers!

Zolo: Said to be one of the world's greatest swordsmen and one of the members of the Straw Hat Pirate crew. Zolo has perfected his style of sword fighting to an art form, but is it enough to beat stinkoman's Double Duuuuuuuuuuuuce busters?

Doofliss: one of the major evil forces that caused the "Thingio" incident, doofliss was sent back in a time portal when he was defeated by mario the first time. plus, find out how exactly he was turned into a mecha-koopa and stuff.

well, a second engine test has been made for your playing pleasure. not that Dengakuman and Don Patch are secret chericters.

Hitting "?" blocks in some cases seemed unneccesary difficult (try using masks, they'll help), but other than that nice job.

how could using masks help?
