Focus Energy + Ember.

The reason? If your partner has Focus Energy, they will use it all the ****ing time. Link it to Ember so they actually use that.

It also raises the critical chance or some **** so that's all cool

They'll use it ALL THE ****ING TIME, even when not hitting the foe. Trust me, I made the mistake of triple-linking an attack with Focus Energy first and it ran out on the first floor of the dungeon I was on.
