The problem with this game isn't that it does anything badly, just that it doesn't do anything particularly well.
I can tell you put a lot of effort into it though, good job on finishing it.

Pretty much the same here. Even though nothing really shines too much here (except the intro movie, which kicked quite a bit of ass aside from the long-winded text portions), you can certainly tell that you put a great deal of effort into the game, which I can appreciate.

Well not really. Everything needs improvement. BUT STILL. This was incredible and featured a wondrous engine with basic bugs. I loved the movie sequences, and the gameplay was great. Everything fit in so nicely, though I forgot to save and have to do the mushroom kingdom all over again =P

You should submit this to the site.

I keep getting game overs on 2-4, and it's a little annoying that I then have to go right back to 2-1 and go through all the levels again. Would be a lot nicer if you were able to save after each level (Or even half way through the world) because the levels tend to go from easy to hard incredibly quickly.

That's just me though.

Either way, I plan to launch the game properly in about a weeks time. This will include the game itself, with the aforementioned bugs finished, a new trailer and a website, which I am making now.

Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying this, and make sure to pick up the fixed version when it comes out!

i'm enjoying this game 100%
& I Will get the fixed one indeed soveryhappy.gif

however: if i play half the game on the one i have now......do i have to Replay the entire game......or can i reuse the saves from the one i got?

The staff can make exceptions on the size limit if it's needed. That's how Paper Bowser world got through anyway.

I'm highly anticipating the fixed version. Certainly will make this game a lot better if it lives up to it's name.

I've found what seems to be a glitch powerup! Last night I entered a door in 5-4 while getting hit, and I came out on the other side of the door, completely invisible. I figured I was screwed, but I discovered that I was not only invisible, but invincible, as I had no collision with other enemies! I figured this to just something that would last till I beat the level, and used it to make quick work of the boss, however, I started the game up today to try and catch the end scene again, and I still was invisible, as if it was another powerup!

The problem I see is no Checkpoints for the #-4 Levels. (With the exception of Level 1-4.)

Why do we always have to go back to the start every time we die? That's annoying and makes us angry at having to get past the same obstacles over and over again just to get to the boss, unless your gaming skills are above that of the average player. Which really sucks when you get all the way to the boss, get killed and have to start the level all over again because it can't be helped.

Yes, the infamous invisible bug, I am only to familiar. Let me explain this. What Mario form you have is controlled by a global value. 1 = little Mario, 2 = Super, 3 = Fire etc. If you have 3, it hides the sprites for every form except fire. The exception is when you get hit/ a powerup anim is playing. The global value is set to 99 making all Mario forms invisible and invulnerable until the anim is over. When you entered the dor before the anim ended, it stayed on 99, meaning you were invisible and invincible!

Keep this if you want. To fix this, simply run into a hole and you will restart as Small Mario. I will most probably fix this.

What I am eventually hoping to do is release a version with a vs. CPU option for Battle Mode. Developing the AI would be the difficult bit but it would be done kinda in the same way as the Sargent Hessy AI in Bonus Challenge
