This is awesome. Even though everyone is using it without any of their own sprites, but it's still cool. I might download it when you finish and use it... with my own sprites.

-Fire Thwomp(same as thwomp but shoots fireballs if it hits the ground)
-Ice thwomp(defeatable by fireballs)

Interesting idea.And you can also add the Time Thwomp(green),can be defeated,only if you're under the effects of a star.It adds additional time.
EDIT:Are you going to use Black Squirrel's sprites?

You found just 2 bugs.The timer is get set when you die in a level or repeat a level.ANd yes,the last thing when you open doors that aren't on the ground.Yes it's a bug.

I did little fixes to the open source. You're now unable to enter door in air and vertically moving platforms are less annoying.
