| QUOTE (Nini Fan#33; @ Mar 19 2007, 04:29 PM) | that's neat. How did you do that!?
On topic with engine: I would request adding somethings like firebars and Subcon enemies. It would be neat... |
It isn't blatantly obvious how I did that?
It's just like creating a real-life movie, ya know.
First, the set (in Game Maker, a "room") must be designed, much like a backdrop. Just build it and go to town. It's rather easy. In fact, because it's not an actual game, feel free to add little touches to it (example, behind the door, destroying tiles, flowerbeds, little things to add life to it).
Then, you gotta get the camera. Find HyperCam and use it, it's the easiest to use (it will not record sound without a microphone, however).
Then, lights, camera, ACTION! Control the actor and do what you want, then cut and print.
Put it together in Movie Maker (or other similar program) and voila! You have a movie with Game Maker!
Also, you can create presentations (like PowerPoint) with Game Maker, just like making a movie, but you use clicks of the mouse or pushes of a button. I did this for a project in school about Buster Keaton (I never showed it though, because I used Mario sprites and you know, everyone would think I was a geek).
So, that is how you would go about making movies with Game Maker. It's simple, easy, and fun to do. Plus, it isn't a game, so technically I'm not "cheating" with a pre-made engine.
Now the engine, it's really impressive. However, the massive amount of stuff in it would make a game with it astronomically ginormous if they decided to be stupid enough to use everything in it.

Falcon Punch is the result of the Sun heating fists. It drives the Blue Falcon. Heating causes destruction of water into the pain, where it then hurts, creating rain. Rain creates flowing water in tears, which can then be converted into other forms through more pain.

Ok! I'll google those two things so I can make one too. However... How do we make the words on the screen?
Engine related stuff: Please OH PLEASE ADD 2 player mode! That would rock! (even though I could just do it myself...) And please add more enemies and some cutscenes. That would be neat.
