Well, at first appearance the game menu comes presentable and very clean. You're thinking, "Wow, looks nice and spiffy, bet this games gonna be loads of fun!". Well, if that's what you really thought... then you were dead wrong.

When first entering game play, you notice the first problem: Sonic moves looser than a 74 year-old prostitute. (heyoooo) I mean, moving Sonic left and right is damn near impossible. Sure, he can move straight fairly well, but tilt the joystick slightly in either direction, and Sonic starts getting harder and harder to control. Overall, it plays like a regular Sonic Adventure.... but not as good. And that's bad.

The game's graphics are quite good however, and I can't complain about those, but I can complain about the poor audio choice they used. The music in the menu is some of the worst "rock" music you'll ever hear.

Sure, the game is fast and all, but when Sonic the Hedgehog comes out, I don't advise a buy... hell, I don't even think a rent is worth it.

I would be psyched to play as Blaze, except that she has Wave's voice actress and I played the Riders demo and Wave sounds horrible soooooooooooooo

I was actually interested in giving this game a chance but so far everyone I've talked to who has played the demo has said it really sucks and considering I haven't enjoyed a Sonic game since the Genesis games then if anything I'm going to give this a rental first.

You forgot to mention how poorly Sonic locks onto things when he does his homing attack, and how impossible it is to control him if he does that slide attack.

If this has another unintentionally hilarious overblown storyline, that could make up for any general gameplay ****ness this probably suffers from, in my eyes.

So, does Sonic control anything like he does in Sonic R? In terms of "annoying to steer" and whatnot. >>;

If you define "annoying to steer" as... everytime you slightly tap stick to go left or right, he does a 90 degree pivot in that direction, then yes.

I still think the cutscenes are impressive though. Really I wouldn't mind if it was a movie instead of a game.

Yeah, I was watching a video of the demo for the Xbox 360.

I thought the person playing it was really horrible at playing the game, but then I realized quite quickly that Sonic's turning was on the super-sensitive setting in the game.

Hey man that one Sonic anime movie was awesome I don't care what anyone says

Also: some of the comic storylines were pretty cool.

And WHY would they use an earlier, inferior version? It seems like a poor marketing descision to me, given that it could turn away customers... which it seems to be doing.

I honestly think the game is one of those where if you go in with really low expectations you'll be surprised, but if you go in thinking that Sonic is saved because of this title you'll be solely mistaken. This is one of the few games where the control is so irresponsive and frustrating I refuse to play any further. The other two games that fit this criteria are Shadow the Hedgehog for the PS2 and Super Mario Pandemonium.

Urgh, but it's so frustrating because Sonic Team didn't even IMPROVE over the features that were hated so much with the past installments. Icky-gross controls, awful camera, and glitches that make you want to smash your 360 (or if you happen to be playing this on your PS3). Wildfire is the Sonic of the future. It has the Feel the Magic staff so we can only hope it's as wonderful as the impressions say it is. <3
