And best of all, Shadow isn't in Wildfire!

I honestly think the game is one of those where if you go in with really low expectations you'll be surprised, but if you go in thinking that Sonic is saved because of this title you'll be solely mistaken. This is one of the few games where the control is so irresponsive and frustrating I refuse to play any further. The other two games that fit this criteria are Shadow the Hedgehog for the PS2 and Super Mario Pandemonium.

Urgh, but it's so frustrating because Sonic Team didn't even IMPROVE over the features that were hated so much with the past installments. Icky-gross controls, awful camera, and glitches that make you want to smash your 360 (or if you happen to be playing this on your PS3). Wildfire is the Sonic of the future. It has the Feel the Magic staff so we can only hope it's as wonderful as the impressions say it is. <3

So we're supposed to play the game, expecting it to suck, so that way it will be good? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

And there's a handful of people who do go into playing games like that, which is why they end up enjoying monstrosities like Sonic 2k6. :p

I see where he's coming from, even if it does sound strange. It's not as much a choice as it is instinct, some people play games with low expectations and some high. If you play it like I would if I could get it, expecting a game along the lines of Adventure 2 or even just Shadow, you'll probably like it in the end. If you think it's going to be the god given right to Sonic being restored to his "former glory" you're gonna come out empty handed. You'd think with the whole atitude you all have you'd of stopped playing Sonic a long time ago, as there were apparently only four good Sonic games, for the Genesis, or five/six if you count Adventure or Adventure 2, though you think then you'd be more lenient on the newer games.

I don't think this game is supposed to "save the series" but I was at least hoping the game would be good... and fun.

This is pretty much how I'm setting my expectations going into the PS3 version release. I'm almost ashamed to say it but the only Sonic game I ever turned down was Sonic Blast.

I'm such a *****..

Pity to hear it seems to be bad. We can always hope the final version is better. :/

Oh, and I agree with Klobber. Those CGI Cutscenes are so awesome, it'd be fun to see them make a movie instead! smile.gif

Surprise, surprise.... cool.gif
If Wildfire is better than this, Wii is the console Sonic fans should head for.

I wish I could try S360, just to see if it really sucks like that...

Sonic Next Gen was always doomed for failure, so you shouldn't sound suprised. Wildfire/Secret Rings looks even less playable, and don't get me started on how bad Rivals looks.

This is just leading to another low point in Sonic's career, just like the Saturn days. Nothing to worry about though, since I'm sure Sega will revive the mascot in a few years time.

The main problem with this game is that sega just keeps on adding new mediocre stuff. At the beggining of production they said that this game would only feature Sonic and Eggman. But now there making the game more complicated than it should be.

I love the demo to death. Plays better than the previous 3D console games at least. And the level design is suprisingly open. Allowing you to take many different paths. I'm playing the demo over and over to go through all of them.

Yes I have an XBOX 360. Through a rent-to-own type deal because I'm cheap.

I gave up on Sonic games after Riders. A piece of anal leakage, that was.
