Way back When Guinea was working on a Project called "Danger Mike", I offered him some help by making him some tilesets.
However, the project never got that far and it became forgotten.
Few days ago I found the old tiles on my Photobucket and thought up I should revive the project myself.
That's where the Seal came in. I didn't have an idea/the time to devote making a complicated Character, so I sprited a Seal with a helmet. It came out great.

The Next thing was the Map. I thought it should be quite Metroid-ish, where you can do all kinds of stuff, but still complete the area even if you broke it all up.
So I made the map. Notice how even if every single rock is broken, the player can still continue without leaving himself to a dead end.

The next thing was the tilesets. They were pretty easy. Check 'em out:

Now I'm off to make the character sprites even more, such as hitting something with Spoon, walking, running and all that.
THE PLOT
One day, a Seal named Michael went to a cave to mine diamonds.
Just when he stepped in to the cave, the entrance collapsed, and
now he searches deperately for an exit. Help Michael to find a way
out by using different kinds of Spoons.
Watch out for wasps and slime monsters, they can be a nuisance.

I made a concept animation for the spoon swinging.

Sorry about the quality loss, but that's what GIFs Do.
Spoon is not included because It's not even done yet, and I figured I shouldn't add it since it's not a dynamic sprite. The Spoons change occasionally in the game, so It'd be a waste of time to make the same sprites all over again. I started mapping Part 2 of the Main Map's Area 1. It'll be quite fun exploring the caves and all that. Metroid fans should like this

Made a new concept animation. Apparently he can either make a Spoonslam, destroying a chunk of 32 pixels from Up, Down, Left and Right, or just poke something with it, breaking a 16 pixels block. Here you go:

The progress of Part 2 of Main map's area 1 is coming up pretty good.
