Just format. Then when she asks you why you did it you make up a story like, LOEL IT FOREVER CRASHED! There was no other way to fixuuu. ;(

She would make me never touch a computer while home or let me have any privilieges at all if something like that happened.

So, If something like that would happen, it must happen out of her own accord, and now that I started messing with it, it is MY fault if something happens.

Well, it died, and my mother claims I know how to ressurect it. without a windows CD.

It was a fricking virus. I managed to salvage all her documents... but... HOLY **** IM SCREWED.

Ugh, me too. Everytime something "techy" breaks, they instantly resort to Kamin, The Techno Fixitman. >:\

I guess this is the case with all modern families. They assume that just because the children aren't computer illiterate, they know how to do EVERYTHING about computers. And yes I too am a victim of this. Even my teachers at school constantly bugged me about "fixing" computer problems. >>;


I was going to suggest a Windows reinstall, but I guess that's out of the question now.

if your useing XP (not sure if its all XP types) you can reformat, you can select to make a backup, take all those programs to your current desktop then clear the D: drive.

then

1.AVG free (anti-virus/virus scanner)
2.Ad-Aware (spyware/adware removal)
3.clear internet files
4.delete strange program files
5.defrag

have you at least taken a look at what's set to run on startup (with autoruns, google it) or what's currenty running (process explorer)

I say lock your mom in her room. Then reformat the computer, oh and I almost forgot when you lock her up in her own room don't forget to feed her or you'll end up with a dead mom. But any ways after you reformat the computer unlock her from her room. If she ask who did it say that sadom (sp) broke outa jail and forced you to lock her in her own room then wreck your own house. But when they left you cleaned up the house and unlicked her from her room. That always works form me
