For the competition.

WHAT WILL HAPPEND IF I CLICK HERE?!?

This is basically a make-your-own-Mario-game-game. Features Touch Screen features (Spring, Bungee Mushrooms and Wheelies).

I made 5 test levels, try them out to gain knowledge. All maps are made using the Map Maker.

All information on how to control is inside the game (apart from: F2: back to main menu, ESC at main menu: Quit, Fireballs: S)

FaQ:
Q: Tiles doesn't change theme/type even though I click on it!
A: Even though they don't appear correctly in the map maker, it'll appear fine in-game. I dunno why this bug is happening.

Q: Bungee Mushrooms doesn't work!
A: The Bungee Mushrooms are kinda buggy. Therefore, I suggest, to make it work, that you only place one ONCE. So be sure when you're placing it.

Q: Loading takes forever!
A: Don't worry, it will show... eventually. The loading may be slow because either your map is huge (loads of objects), or your computer sucks.

Q: Sometimes a loaded stage appears blank and I die!
A: It'll only happend once. This is because your computer won't load the map correctly, being too slow. This is very rare, though, and only appears if your computer is really slow.

If you have any questions, feel free.

I'll also add any object if you request it and provide the sprite (NSMB style plz).
And if you upload your map here, I'll include it in possibly later versions.

(NOTICE: Players will spawn at the last entered pipe. If none is entered, it's at the start.)

I really think this game has the potential to be big, but for the love of God, change the controls. Like I said, I think it's a decent concept and everything, but the controls are so atrocious that it makes the game unplayable.

What program or language did use to create this?

EDIT: I'm mostly talking about the gameplay; I didn't really try the level editor too much.

MMF2 'course!

And controls are so that you can use the mouse and still move at the same time.

I need to know how an American keyboard is D:

Is that a QWERTY keyboard?

Anyway, you need to use ASDF and Shift, which as basically the other side of the keyboard. That's annoying as hell.

When you were making the game, did you use "User hits D key"-type events for controls, or did you use "Player 1 presses Right" and set the default right key to D?

I usually use Shift and the arrow keys, which is the standard for most Klik users.

Did the player thingy.

Oh wait, that keyboard is european? huh.gif

Or atleast, it doesn't seem too hard to press A/D and shift at the same time (use your little finger to press it).

EDIT: PRESS CTRL + Y TO CHANGE CONTROLS

Yeah, I was just about to post that. That's why I asked if you did "Player 1 presses" or just used the keyboard commands.

Now that I can play the thing comfortably, my biggest complaints are that Mario's traction seems lacking and some of the graphics clash (most notably the Super Mushroom, though I haven't gotten far enough to really judge other graphics much).

I'll play around with the level editor later.

The reason the Mushroom is really screwed up and from another game is because I couldn't find the NSMB one.

K, well I don't see a problem with the controls then.

Beside, you can edit it.
