Congrats to bEEtle for winning again, and the rest who participated. It was a very good comp and it'll be difficult to beat... but lets try anyway.
Wasn't sure what to do as a subject for the next sprite comp... I wanted to make something more original than a "Draw this character" comp, but wasn't sure what to do. Already screwed up the Mario Galaxy and suit ideas, so I came across this.
You may know that recently I came across "Dangerous Dave in copyright infringement", where the first level of SMB3 had been replicated in CGA graphics. Looked cool considering, and it would have been a lot better if it had been finished. Now here's your chance... sorta.
My entry for the last comp was NSMB in gameboy style. You have to do a similar thing but with a wider pallette and it doesn't have to be NSMB. It can be any Mario game or an entirely new one - totally up to you. No edits though, that's the golden rule for this comp to work. It doesn't have to be a complete screen of a game - it can be just simple sprites, but bare in mind that the more you make, the merrier. Try and keep it a 2D platformer, since that was one of the selling points to CGA graphics, once they'd figured out scrolling.
Here's your 'amazing' pallette:

and if you think it's impossible to make a decent game out of it, then you obviously haven't played Commander Keen or Duke Nukum.
Voting starts in a
weeks(?) time, which is the 21st two weeks time, which is the 28th. Now hop-to-it! And if this competition really is hated feel free to give ideas for a replacement.
