| QUOTE (Captain Jeff Silvers @ Oct 20 2006, 07:01 AM) | ...So basically your argument is that if Nintendo did decide not to release Twilight Princess on Gamecube, fans don't have a right to be angry because they should just buy a Wii, anyway? Because I'm pretty sure I won't be able to get a Wii for a while, and I'm pretty sure I'm not nearly the only person for whom this is true. Using common sense would make it obvious that there will be some fans who won't get a Wii soon (or at all in some cases), but hey, why use common sense when sweeping generalizations and the word "retard" make you sound so much edgier?
But you shouldn't complain because you'll get the game eventually!
Totally beside the point. A long ass time ago, Nintendo told us that the upcoming Zelda game would be on Gamecube. We were effectively told we wouldn't have to buy a new system to play it. Even after the Wii version was announced (and it was announced that the Gamecube version wouldn't be released until three weeks later), Gamecube owners thought they would be able to get it on the system they were promised without having to buy a totally new one.
It appears that this is actually true, and that Nintendo IS going to release Twilight Princess for Gamecube. Still, the fact that you called anybody who was upset over what appeared to be the cancellation of this version of the game a "retard" (in totally big, bold, totally edgy text) and then giving us the excuse that, "Europeans have to wait longer to get games!" (which I guess is relevent if you don't actually bother thinking about it too much) makes you seem like an ass. |
To add to this, there's also the little thing about how this game was originally slated to be released a year and a half ago. We've been waiting to get this game "eventually" for a while now. Even those of us who can't/aren't planning on getting a Wii on launch day would rather not wait any longer, especially since, as Jeff mentioned, we were promised we wouldn't have to buy a completely new system to play it. It's bad enough that they delayed the GCN game until weeks after the Wii version even after they said there would be a simultaneous release, outright cancelling it would just be spitting in our faces, smart business or not.
and yes I know they said the GCN version isn't cancelled, I'm just explaining my rationale for still wanting it.
