QUOTE (Toby @ Oct 20 2006, 06:56 AM)
**** it, gaming is nothing like it was back then.
I quit gaming here and now to express my utter disgust with Nintendo.

Ph and for the record, Europe did not get, among other things:
Earthbound
Chrono Trigger
Super Mario RPG
Wario Ware: Twisted

Oh and uh, it took a long time for KH2 to come over here, just because some french and dutch people need the game translated.

Europe gets games delayed, sometimes not at all just because... it has to be translated to four/five more languages!

You're joking right? I can never tell with you.

People just need to calm down, Nintendo hasn't even released any official word on this yet. Especially after the Mother 3 fiasco where every other news article talked about how Nintendo had SECRET PLANZ TO BRING IT OVER I tend to take stuff like this with a grain of salt until I get confirmation from Nintendo. So just chill out guys, I'm sure you'll be able to get your GameCube Zelda somehow.

BIG HUGE TEXT because people in this topic seemed to miss the voices of reasons initially.

If you'll take a gander at the article, you'll see that this was all a load of bull****.

Nintendo's official statement: Online reports about the Nintendo GameCube version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess are incorrect. The amazing game will be available at retail outlets nationwide on Dec. 13.

Just like we said, ladies and germs. This is why you always wait for word from Nintendo before going crazy. Bet those guys who were moaning about how they'd never support Nintendo again are feeling pretty silly now eh?

Not only hasn't Nintendo confirmed anything, but (as I mentioned earlier) at least my local Gamestop confirmed that the game was pulled because they are no longer accepting pre-orders.

This also goes to show how shoddy the journalism is for some websites. If you read more of the update, they didn't even bother to check why the game was removed from the Gamestop/EB computer systems before they started reporting that the game was cancelled entirely. They jumped from "Gamestop removed the game from their system" to "NINTENDO CANCELLED IT!" with no additional supporting evidence whatsoever. Way to rush a news article without doing any research at all beforehand!

It wouldn't have had made sense to pull it anyway, they promised it would come out on both systems, plus they already went through the trouble of making the whole game for both the gamecube controller and wii controller. All that time spent programming gamecube controls and stuff wouldn't likely have gone to waste

in any case you poor people can cheer

I'm still getting the wii version I have it preordered =)

I don't think it's Nintendo's 'style' to announce that a game will be available for both platforms on the Wii's launch date at e3 and the like, just to suddenly decide otherwise.

I would have thought they'd make more money on the GameCube version anyway, since more people currently have a GameCube than a Wii, and still will do after it's released. I was already let down with Super Paper Mario being transferred, so it would be nice to see a GameCube version in stores over here.

And really, the GameCube isn't dead since they've got it so the Wii can play the games, so it's not like there's going to be tons of refunds because the game doesn't work on the new console.

Too late for guesses.

Let me reiterate: those of you in England and the rest of Europe WILL actually have to purchase it online. The link Klobber supplied only confirms the game will ship to retailers in North America. :P

Only Japan is for sure the one that you have to order online.

Ah, you're right, my bad. I was reading a press statement from Nintendo Of Greece. For the rest of Europe it seems the game will still ship to retail outlets.
