If only they decided to work with Nintendo, then we'd have the Mega-Machine.

Considering what they've done so far with Real World Golf and Dark Wind Fighting, it looks like they'll be on board for the Playstation 3 if anything.

Kind of ruins the "six degrees of freedom" when they have something infinitely better at their fingertips.

That's interesting, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was more intuitive and technically superior to the Wiimote, but it isn't really the "nail in the coffin" just yet:

We're all forgetting that this controller would simply be an optional purchase for a few *select* software titles, much like how the Eyetoy was to the PS2. Wii is entirely centered around the controller; there is no game that entered conception for the Wii without the developer thinking "how can I use advanced motion technology to this game's advantage?". With crap like this, since it's simply an optional feature you can implement into games (much like the addition of the PS3's motion sensitive capabilites in games that still center around analog sticks), you can expect that the developers who want to use this won't spend much time with it due to it'c complicity and instead just whip up some half-assed "special" mode that your otherwise uninteresting and boring game would support (hence, DDR with eyetoy support).

The other thing is that the developer of this controller is totally missing the boat; Nintendo is wanting to innovate in far more fields than anybody else is, beyond fields such as "technical superiorty". All the reports I'm seeing on this controller are how much technically superior it is to the Wiimote - but what's that going to achieve aside from the proverbial higher price tag? The thing is, that tennis demo that's been explained, you have to know how to play tennis. Wii Sports is simplistic for a REASON. Motion sensitive technology is immersive, but not when it's so complicated it alienates an entire audience. It's like saying, "well essentially the Steel Battalion controller is technically superior to other joysticks" - that's grand and all, but now let's ask ourselves who actually wants to use it. :P

I personally would not mind using it on my fav platform, PC.

Yeah, um, but y'see the Wiimote doesn't have ultrasound so it's really not going to work for me. :-/

And like uh, who are you kiddin'? The EyeToy is pimp. In fact, screw the Wii, I'll get an EyeToy + PS2 for like the same price.
